Some more little DIY jobs, putting stuff back in the loft again before it gets too hot (we're due a heatwave in the UK for the next few days). Sitting out under our pergola with the louvres shut (little build job from earlier this year). Great place to sit in the shade and drink coffee while having a read online.

From a bit earlier in the year, the Olive tree behind has since grown a lot as well, so another DIY job to trim it back soon.

Also tidied up the garage a bit from my recent spraying sessions. I'm really disappointed with the Cabronita job: The back has blistered and will need sanding back to bare wood due to a weird solvent 'pop' thing. I put the neck back on this morning so I could hang it back in my music room, which led to further disappointment: The colour looks great in bright sunlight, but turns a more brown shade in my music room.

I'm thinking I might re-do it in Lake Placid Blue as the LPB Squire Strat will hopefully sell soon, though I'll miss the colour. I hate sanding off paint, but can't leave any underneath. Have a holiday soon, so maybe I'll come back fresh with different ideas, just hope we get a decent September so I can finish off some more spray jobs.

Meanwhile, back to my coffee. :)
Love the outdoor space you have created... 👍

40 years ago if you told me one day I would buy a house and every year on the NE side I would have to wash it every year I would have called you crazy. The rest gets washed every other year, maybe 3. So, today I washed my house. It has vinyl siding. At least it’s only 1100 square feet.

We grew up near here and my parents home never had stuff grow on any of it

Thursday night I loaded up my daughter's Camry with all of her college stuff, roof carrier and all. We woke up at 2:00 AM and were on the road, headed South, at 2:30AM. Stopped for gas five hours later. Another three and a half hours later we were hungry and stopped for food. We walked into a Chic-Fil-A outside of Charlotte and my brother and his family were at the counter. He lives in Aiken, about two and a half hours from Charlotte. Total coincidence. My oldest daughter said the odds of that happening are similar to getting hit by space debris.

Well, so much for Henriette, it's back to practically no winds, high humidity (80s) and high temps (88°F, and I guessed 87° so I'm not far off). It's an outdoor sauna, even under the patio, out of the @&)#_+ sun's reach. I've already taken 2 cold showers today.

Still working on my mess, looks like I'll be able to sleep on my bed again! After I do laundry, that is, …or at least change my sheets.

Well οff to take another cold shower. I'm stickier than a fly paper! 🥵😮‍💨😣

It’s my birthday (63) so I’m picking my wife up from her work at 2 and we’re headed the Chicago for the night. She’ll work from home tomorrow so we’ll have dinner tonight somewhere nice and then tomorrow after getting some work done she’ll go for a run along the lake and we’ll have a nice lunch probably at Gibsons or Tavern on Rush. We like to stay at the Sheraton downtown.

Have a good one Lonn. Only been to Chicago once and that was March 2020, so didn't get to see much as it was a bit closed down by that point. At least we got a near empty view of 'the bean'.

Might need to borrow your temperature gauge @Las Palmas Norte as it supposed to be hitting around 35 deg C here today, which is very hot for the UK. No air con, but lots of 'passive' heat control of closing shades on the sunny side of the house, etc. It usually works well on hot days, but 35 is going to be a challenge.

Therefore I don't think I'll be doing much today other than trying to keep cool. :)
