Just got word that the Fam is flying back early today, instead of this afternoon, it's this morning in a few hours. So going over the house to make sure it's as it was when they left …or cleaner. But first gotta gotta walk the dog for his morning poop time, then feed him.

Insofar as my room is concerned, it's getting there, but will need to go thru my guitar parts pile and organize them. That'll take time as I have dozens of guitar's worth of parts that needs to be separated into their individual guitar's boxes so that when it's their guitar's turn on the bench I can just grab that guitar's parts box and hit the ground running.

Pup sez "Let's go already!"

Yup, he pulled hard until he reached one of his favorite deposit location. Picky the buggah. 🙄🤣 Geez 745am and it's already hitting 79°F. Ain't looking forward to today. Forecast says it's gonna be 94° today, probably will be 90° at where I am. Still gonna be a hot one today. I'm already SO looking forward to when the winter monsoons get here...

FYI, it looks like we're going into another La Niña year again with more extreme weather in the Mainland with extra hurricanes (heard some places already got a mild derecho, whatever "mild" is 🤨🙄🤦🏻‍♂️) and extremes in temperatures and weathers. Keep an eye on the Polar Vortex, if it breaks, we definitely are gonna get crappie tons of snow then. Again.

Finished the hack job on my portable pedal board.

I couldn't be whole not having this running again...

Messing it up with a too deep cut, that actually allowed a better board to be cobbled together, a blessing in disguise, it was!

It's now about 7/16" wider, and the looper and wah will be just off-board.

Removed the looper because the orange drive and the 🙊 monkey are perfect together in this order, (the🙊 monkey first... not so good/noisy).

So, now just a replacement rechargeable power supply will be needed next time, and with Amazon will only be down a day or two...

Knocked off all of the corners and edges with a Dremel to keep from snagging the inside of the case, (they should have broke the edges at the factory anyhow).
Still fits nicely in it's padded case too.
Slicker than snot!.

Hit our favorite bunch spot when they opened to beat the heat. They are very pooch friendly and all the people that work there love our pups

Then to a store so the Misses could grab some storage bins, swing over to the mall to check out the Sundance store going out of business sale

Stopped and got Gelato

Just got home...

My coworker came over to get our old refrigerator yesterday (Mama got a brand new fridge on Friday!), brought over her Ibanez Gio for me to look at and maybe tweak on...

Actually a great player, typical awesome, fast Ibanez neck, but it needs a fret Sprout circumcision....

Gotta find my fret file...

The Fam's back from their trip. They're sleeping the jet lag off. In meantime I'm continuing sorting my jumbo jumble pile. Too hot to be inside so opened the patio sliding door and recruited the outside table as the sorting table (1st pic). Already seeing quick progress. A little less than a quarter of the messy table sorted. (2nd pic.)

After this set is done, then it is the insides of my cabinets' turn to be sorted. Same methodology. Empty them onto the Jumble Table and sort them on the Sorting Table.

15 minutes later and looks like Tropical Storm Henriette has arrived. Or at least her outermost bands has finally reached us. Not much winds, but lotsa rains. Hopefully it'll scrub the worst of the heat away. That reminds me. I better check Hen's track and make sure she's still heading NWN past us. She was 470 miles from here as of this morning…

Just checked the Tracking. She's already been upgraded to Cat1 Hurricane by a half day early! That was fast, she was expected to hit Cat1 tomorrow! 😅 But she's still 460 miles away, if anything looks like she's gonna be one of those slowpoke hurricanes. Hope this means she'll dump lots of rain on us, we could use the water. We've been under red flag conditions (super dry and windy, a serious wildfire risk) for two weeks already.

Some more little DIY jobs, putting stuff back in the loft again before it gets too hot (we're due a heatwave in the UK for the next few days). Sitting out under our pergola with the louvres shut (little build job from earlier this year). Great place to sit in the shade and drink coffee while having a read online.

From a bit earlier in the year, the Olive tree behind has since grown a lot as well, so another DIY job to trim it back soon.

Also tidied up the garage a bit from my recent spraying sessions. I'm really disappointed with the Cabronita job: The back has blistered and will need sanding back to bare wood due to a weird solvent 'pop' thing. I put the neck back on this morning so I could hang it back in my music room, which led to further disappointment: The colour looks great in bright sunlight, but turns a more brown shade in my music room.

I'm thinking I might re-do it in Lake Placid Blue as the LPB Squire Strat will hopefully sell soon, though I'll miss the colour. I hate sanding off paint, but can't leave any underneath. Have a holiday soon, so maybe I'll come back fresh with different ideas, just hope we get a decent September so I can finish off some more spray jobs.

Meanwhile, back to my coffee. :)

After work I have a washing machine that my stepson and I are trying to diagnose and fix.
As for guitar stuff, I've decided to strip back the finish on my project guitar and try a metallic orange/copper look instead.
Sounds a bit like me last week, except it was our washing machine. Good luck with the orange/copper look, hope it works out better than mine. 👍

Yeah, lol. I was thinking about you after reading your post! I did not expect finishing guitars to be this difficult! Worth it though when they look good.
