You’re weird! :p;)

You’re also young. When I was your age, I didn’t care for Tele’s either (or Sunburst Strats for that matter)... See what another 36 years will do to you (two more entire lives for you from now).

Joking aside, for me... Tele’s have to have one of three things, the more of the three, the better:
1) A tummy cut (night/day difference in comfort)
2) Be extremely light (especially if they don’t have a cut)
3) Have a chunky neck (especially by the nut).

My BT Tele has 1 & 3
My Sawtooth has 2 & 3
I’m working on a project that has all three.

Agreed on all points! When I was a youngin', I cared not for the strat or tele. After I hit 30, tastes seem to change in sound and feel preference of the guitar - I also realized that my biggest heroes (Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler) were all stratocaster players. Sometime after, I read somewhere that the Tele is the older man's guitar...

I must have moved fast forward through time, because I recently got into the tele craze and just traded a squier strat for a squier tele.

I also agree on the three points, except the tummy cut which isn't that important, but a light body with a chunky neck and some decent Alnico pickups will do the trick for me.

I played only Teles from 17 to 33 or so. Love the tone, bridge, neck, and so much more. They are a little heavy. If you like metal, try the J5 sigs! They are a fricken joy.

But I totally support: if it aint your thing, then its fine. You don't have to like everything.

I can go from blues to metal with my Squier Standard Tele - the alnico V's paired with my Tonelab ST or VT80+ can do wonders in the realm of versatility:

The older you get, the less you need. First you stop using the trem, then you realize you don't use all 3 pickups. Floating the trem become a pain in the ass rather than an art. Then you decide to simplify things and trade off a strat for a tele. That's how it starts, pretty soon there's no turning back. Kurdtz, tele time is coming.

I don't like Teles, which is why I only own three. If I liked them, I'd have more.
