I'm considering a mustang katana type amp as they have digital features, because I don't use modulation or distortion type pedals, so id like an amp that has all the bells and whistles, so I need opinions on which amp version are good. Between the katanas and mustangs, and reliability.
Thanks

I can't speak for the Katana amp, but others here have spoken highly of them.
I have the Mustang LT25, and love it. If you're playing with a band, the 25 might not be loud enough, but for a home practice or recording amp, it works great. Like several others here, I don't really use any of the original presets, mainly just use two sound banks I created and saved over the #1 and 2 slots.

Mustang GTX100 will get the job done. Best is setting up your own styles, overwriting the factory presets. If you know what that sound is, you can get a close approximation of. Particularly, the Fender amp patches are really accurate. Connecting to a tablet makes setting editing so much faster.
Yep-- exactly what I do with my LT25. I have the amp models for the Deluxe Reverb and Twin Reverb saved to slots 1 and 2 on mine, with reverb and a little slapback delay set in the effects, then just use the knobs on top to fine tune if needed.

Got that idea from @DougMen awhile back, and it completely changed how I use that amp-- I used to waste too much time trying to find the "right" sound to use for each different guitar, now I just turn it on and start playing 🎸

I have a Mustang LT25. I do wish I had spent a little more and gotten the LT50, not because it has double the power but because (1) it has a 12-inch speaker and (2) it had an actual mid control ... yes, you can control the mids through the LCD interface or through software but it is just so much easier to have an actual control. I've thought very often about trading or selling my LT25 and getting its big brother.

But if you're talking about Mustang amps ... how about the old, reliable, Mustang III/IV Ver. 2? I have the Mustang III and it's also a great amp. You can probably get a great deal on a used one. And the older Mustangs use Fender FUSE software and there and hundreds of user-made presets available online.

Dependent on the tones you are after the Peavey Vypyr Series is also a good amp to look into .IMG_7274.JPGIMG_7277.JPG

My two cents. The katana has the better actual amplifier as in its a Class A/B BUT the mustang gtx or even LT has the better moding and effects.

The katana sounds better out of the speaker.

I went with the mustang and im going to upgrade the speaker to a fancy modeling speaker.

I wanted no pedals except an amp pedal maybe a wah and tube pre amp only.

The gtx100 just fits the bill. The modeling and sound overall won me compared to the katana. You can do anything with this.

Someone keep the tone master away from me.

I believe that the mustang modeling makes up for the

I like my Mustang GTX100 but it has its drawbacks. First of all there's too many bells and whistles. Literally hundreds of amp and effects combos. I use maybe four presets. And side by side with my Blues Junior it sounds like a digital amp. But it's also a lot of fun. The app is cool for controls on your phone or tablet. I would recommend.
