I'm trying to take the pick ups from my left handed Squier I acquired for free and put them into my Pacifica. I love the sound of the Squier but unfortunately It's a pain to play even though I reversed the pick ups and restrung it righty. Any help would be much appreciated.

What ind of help are you looking for? That should be a pretty straight forward type of switch.
I have never done something like this before and I am just looking for someone to get on skype with me or some type of call and walk me through the process, that's all :)

Take off the pups one at a time, and retrace the wiring on the Pacifica. I'm assuming you're going to keep the HB.

I'm pretty sure the Squier pickups are run of the mill pickups. They're not specifically made for left handed guitars. There's nothing special to do.

Take them off. Trace the wiring on the Pacifica pickups. Install Squier pickups. One wire goes to the switch. One wire goes to the ground.

I don’t know anything about Skype! LOL. I guess I’m getting old.

Based on you pics, two things jump out right away. First, you will have to get a pickgaurd for the Yamaha that will fit three single coil pickups. Second, you might have to change the wiring a little bit because the Yamaha only has one vol and one tone. If you can get a pickgaurd that fits the Yamaha with three single coil pickups and spots for three pots, you might be able to just bolt all the strat pieces right in and only have to solder the jack and the bridge ground.

Do you think something like this would fit on my Yamaha?Screenshot_20180524-205539_Chrome.jpeg

It can be a bit intimidating the first time you do it, but it's not very difficult once you figure things out..
Go to you tube and do a search..Look for soldering tips as well as pickup installing..Just take your time and do a lot of studying before you start..
Do one at a time and test it before moving on..
You can do it..
And welcome aboard..

hey @peterweigang78 - you certainly should be able to swap those lefty Squier electronics into that righty Yamaha Pacifica ... but you ARE going to need an SSS Righty pickguard. That loaded PG should also work, but if you got those Squier pickups for FREE - heck, why not try those first??

It would be pretty hard to help via Skype -- but I would totally do it FOR you, no charge, if you wanted to ship me the stuff (and pay for the return shipping).

Funny, the first guitar I ever worked on was a Red Pacifica, much like yours -- prob 25 years ago (and I bet the b**** still has that guitar!)

Welcome to Squier-Talk @peterweigang78.

If you buy a pick guard for the Yamaha with holes for 3 single coil pickups and three knobs, you should be able to transfer the Squier pickups, knobs, and switch without disconnecting everything. You'll still have to solder the ground wire, which goes from the control cavity, through the body, and is soldered to the tremolo "claw" in the back. If you know someone who work with electronics, he/she might be willing to do this for you.

Generous offer @IronSchef. That's why I like belonging to this community.
