It's a warm tube rectified amp head. I usually need to turn the mids down a bit. It has an amazingly warm and crunchy gain channel. The amp was made for Guitar Center and designed by Bruce Egnater.

Hey Ken, i just wanted to use your thread to tell you i got my t90 bridge pup. It's also for my cabronita so it makes sense to post in your cab thread. anyways, the pup great and i like the sound of it a lot. It's definitely big on the low end and a much deeper tone than the stock and it's still got a lot of sparkle and jangle. it's all good.

There is one thing that's kind of bothering me though. My middle position sounds way too much like my neck pickup only. What is up with that? I have been playing around with pickup heights and it doesn't really seem to have much effect.

Basically i can barely hear a difference between the sound of the fidelitron alone and the fidelitron + t90 combo.

With the stock pickups, there was a distinctly different sound in all the switch settings and i liked the variety.

Any tips?

Hmmm... do you have your height squared away? Does it sound out of phase?

what does height squared away mean?

and i can't imagine they're out of phase. I mean i have had out of phase pups once and they sounded weak and thin. The middle position on my cab sounds full and bottom end heavy, just almost ALL fidelitron with barely a hint of the t90.

on your pup white is lead, black is ground right?

I just meant the volume is balanced equally between the 2 pickups? Whilst in the middle position can you tap on the t90 with something metal to make sure it is active?

ya tapping with a screwdriver shows everything is fine.
Just out of curiosity, how high do you have your fidelitron and your t90 set? if you use some coins between a pole and a string?

I didn't have one in mine for long. I used an Alba overwound Tele pup. I had the fidelitron pretty low if I recall correctly. (That guitar is long gone, didn't do anything for me....)

With my custom wound Rose bridge PUP I need to have to Fideli'tron quite high. And it, too, sounds 'phasey' with both on (which is what I was looking for).

I read on the SD website that if you mix one of his PUPS with a stock Fender Tele pup it WILL be out of phase -- you have to reverse the wiring.

I suspect the same is so with the Rose, as it was, years ago when I replaced one of my `59 Tele PUPs with the Gretsch Filtertron. Back then I had no knowledge of "phase" - I just mounted it as appeared correct and got that great "harmonica tone." And do, now, again.

I will shortly be putting a push/pull switch in the Cab to allow for reversal of phase. Then I'll be able to answer this question for sure. :)

Good, thank you! Sorry to read about this Squier Cabro being a dog! I've heard good things about the ones with the two fidilitrons.

Ahh, I think it was just a couple of us that were on the fence after vetting the guitar.. no biggie. The neck ended up being small for me anyway... although the frets were smooth and level...I'm still rocking your donation with some belles...
