Full story on TDPRI:

Short version, though I’d try a Tele with volumes on both pickups for better balance for loops and tracking, found bits from a parted out 40th gold and the result is this garish looking DiscoCaster: Affinity Body, CV 60s Thinline Neck, 40th Anniversary pickups and hardware.

Works OK but man, is it fruity to look at…

Looks good to me. Just give it a decade or two and the white will age to look nice and creamy to match the gold hardwares!

To me, it looks more like something I might see on "The Righteous GemStones". 😂

Regardless, own that! Make a stance! Rock out with your socks out!

Here is Affinity FMT I put together. "The Gold Edition"! All Gold Hardware with 2025 Body and 2021 Bullet Neck. She got a few coats of Butterscotch Blond and Gold 2-pin Tuners that fit a Squier! I just love the cheap Epi A2 P-90! Bridge is a A2/A5. 😍 🎸

Now THAT'S a good looking butterscotch blonde! I never really liked the looks of a standard butterscotch blonde. Too washed out looking. This butterscotch blonde is the one I'd consider buying if more of it was on the market. Thanks, you've given me an idea I've never considered before: buying a butterscotch and add an extra coat or two of more butterscotch to make it more a solid colour than something that looked like it didn't have enough finish applied.

Just talking out a few coats on Neck only! I paid a bundle for FMT Body and their finish is Fine. Nice Okume back. Decals still show through too on neck. Some necks are whiter than my butt so I fix them. I have tried to match a CV tint with no luck? :D

Ah I see. Then that's the best looking butterscotch body I've ever seen! Looks more like the neck's amber clear on the body! Still a beauty! Oh gods, I know what ye mean about bare butt white necks! That's been really common on the recent Squier satin necks. Saw it on my 2021 Squier Bullet. Eeh, ok, figures. Never thought I'd see this on a $400+ Contemporary, but here it is!

The black 2018 model that's made in 2017 looks ok, but the 2020 model made a three years later was so pale that I thought it was a fluke. …Until I got my two 2021 Bullets which had even lighter necks! Especially the Telecaster! Which is literally bare butts white.
