I recently purchased the new CV50s Tele Custom. This was my first Tele. I like this guitar so much I am thinking I would like to try the original CV 50s Tele in white. I like the look of the maple board.
I would love to hear from owners about the good and if any, the bad points on this guitar.
Some closeups of the bridge assembly and neck would be great.

I can't think of a thing I don't like about the 50s Tele. It couldn't be any better at ANY price. I love the look, the feel, the sound, the wood, the finish, the tight fitting neck pocket, the vintage tuners, the vintage tinted fretboard and the price. I wouldn't, and haven't, changed anything. I'd like to have a custom like yours too.

I don't have One issue with my CV50s Tele, and I'm not tryin' to find any. The sound is clean, no tuning probs, at all. I only changed strings, went with some pups with a bit more output (SDs), and the pickup switch in mine. It's a better catch than a MIM, for less. Made me a believer.....but that's just me!

I have had my CV50s for about 9 months now, I love it, it is my number 1. You asked about the pine body, well they tend to be a bit heavy, and I feel you can ding the finish easier, other than that I find absolutely no problem with the pine, and personally I don't count these as a problem. Yes the pickups are a low output, but it is a tribute to telecasters of the 1950's, and I think they are the defining "part" of this. I can't play "Folsom Prison" or "Cry, Cry, Cry" on my Nashville, it just don't sound as right, to me, as my CV. Pick guard is kinda thick, but to my eye it works. The neck is the nicest I have ever had, quality wise. The finish is thick, the tint is gorgeous. If I was putting together "My" signature model I would have it narrower @ the nut and "V" shape, and a thinner finish. But it is a very nice playing neck and looks great so I will not be replacing it. The only thing I have, and will replace, are the strings. In the near future I will be modding my Nashville, by which I mean I am changing the pickups to a vintage lower output, not modern, based upon how my playing sounds on my CV. I am also purchasing, ASAP, the CV Custom, I am pretty sure I will be replacing the neck on that one, based upon what I have heard. I have some builds planned for down the road, to get variations that I desire, but I have no changes in mind for my CV 50's. As it sits right now if I had to choose 1 Tele, it would be my CV50s in it's stock configuration.

I recently grabbed a used '50's CV off of another board. I am amazed at the quality of construction and the tone. I got it to use at lunch breaks at the office. Cheap and handy. I'm very pleased with the guitar.

Regarding the neck shape, it reminds me of my '64 Telecaster's. Very similar feel and shape.

I've had mine for several months and have no real issues with it...if I did, it would be gone by now.

If I could wave a wand over it and change anything I wanted, I'd give it a nitro finish and drop about a pound off it. Since I can't do either of those, I'm quite content with her as she is. The only mod I've done is to add a bridge cover which is nothing more than snapping it on the bridge.

Once I strung this up with my preferred strings and set it up to my specs, it lacks nothing for me. I don't find the pickups weak at all, the tone is delightful, it plays wonderfully, and it looks great.

I tuned it to open G about a month ago and it will stay there for the foreseeable future. I like to play me some Stones and this guitar does it well.

It is the same with me. It is hard to find a live one. I have asked my guy to call me when he gets one in. So far no calls. When I call and ask he says he had one and before he could call me a guy walked in and boght it from the owner.
I guess I will have to order one and hope it is a good one. The one good thing is, if I don't like it he will just put it out for sale.
The more I hear the more I am leaning that way.
I have two CVs and they are both excellent. The tele Custom has totally blown me away. But I would really like one with a maple board. I think you can see where I am going with this.

I've had my CV 50's since January '09. I struggled with it at first, it was my first Tele and it weighed more then any of my other guitars. Due to old motocross injuries I just couldn't play it for long periods of time standing. So it got ALOT of case time, and I was saddened by the whole situation.

Then I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase one of Guitar Fetishs pawlowania bodies. The body change knocked 3 lbs off the weight, the transition from one body to the next was seamless, and now my 5.5 lb. CV 50's is my go to guitar.

I've done a few 3-4 hour rehearsals without removing the guitar from my body, the tone is all there and I have finally bonded with this guitar. I could not be any happier.

What have I changed on it besides the body?! I replaced the tone pot because the stocker had a wierd glitch in it. I changed the strings to 10's and added some Marvel straplocks. I also put a thinner pickguard on it cause the stocker seemed a little lame to me.
