There is always the Rolling Rock tele sitting above it on the list for 60 bucks... Perhaps do it in a Tung Oil finish for an easy re-do on the advertisement look thing? Figure final result is a woodie Standard series Tele for under 90 bucks... After shipping, taxes and oil for the finish... Thats not a bad project sitting up there at the moment...

Id probably buy it myself and do it if I wasnt broke... When I looked at the GC site today thats what was standing out to me as the deal of the day... 60 bucks for a standard series tele... Figure 20 bucks max on shipping/taxes from Minnesota to New York... Tung oil for under 10 bucks... Woodie Standard series tele project ready to go for under 90 bucks...

Its listed as 3 stars so make sure ya ask about back of neck, headstock, etc and etc... Im thinkin the damage is to the finish tho that would be coming off it anyways...

Dang... the Rolling Rock Tele sold this morning as soon as they opened.

I sent them an Email as soon as I read this thread, and the store called me immediately to tell me it was gone. I've been looking for one of those Rolling Rock Teles for quite a while.

I know what you mean, any standard under 100.00 is a steal.
Sometimes I will take a chance and buy them online before the store opens, right from there headquaters. If I don't like it I'll take it back or resale it.
