Hi Good Folks,

Could someone point me to where I could find a pickup switch for a Squier '51.
I had this guitar given to me but, the rotary switch doesn't click into the positions, it just turns smoothly.
I don't think it's right but, maybe that's the way they are supposed to be.
Also, after finding one, I'd need a pic or two to show what wires get soldered where.

Thanks much,
Michael

It's been a long time since I've had a 51, but doesn't it have a push-pull knob to change between pickups, and then one is volume and one tone.

Push pull volume to split the bridge, no tone control. The second knob was a rotary switch that served as a pickup selector.

Hi drew,

Yes, it appears mine has been changed out at some point...

Thank You,
Michael

Glad I could help!

If you really want to change things up I can dig up the diagram of my ‘51. I have a 5 way rotary switch and the stock push-pull. The positions on the rotary switch are: full bridge, split bridge, full bridge & neck, split bridge & neck, neck. The push-pull puts the pickups in series when pulled up and both pickups are on. When only one pickup is on it acts as a kill switch.

Thanks again MKG,

I really would like to explore what You've done with the great selections
of the switching.
Sounds very good to me, getting more out of the combos is a really good thing.
I appreciate Your work on doing things like this too!

Again,
Many Thanks!
Michael
