I recently picked up a pair of FilterTron pickups for a future project and now that I have them I have to start thinking about how they're going to be wired up. I Was originally going to go with a simple three way switch with tone and volume: basic but with enough built in variation to make it entertaining(I've never owned a guitar with FilterTrons BTW). In the last little while though I've come across some other circuits, like the passive tone/bass setup below, that intregue me and I was wondering how such a setup(or others) would work with FilterTrons:

Also, if anyone has any suggestions about different wiring schemes I'd appreciate hearing about them.
Thanks all and a great day!

Honestly, I kept it simple with my non-Gretsch Filtertron project. 3-way switch, 1 meg volume, and 1 meg tone.

I love my Filtertrons! I think they are Artecs with A2 Magnets. Only a 3-way since I have a Mustang with the "Quack" switches for out of phase. My only advice is if you copper shield, put some masking tape over it in PU routs. I had my Bridge PU ground out and I completely rewired it and then found out Pole was touching my copper tape! :D

Hmm, what prompted you to go with the 1M pots instead of some other value?
Honest truth?

Jazzmaster. 😅

I also (subsequently) have a Gretsch Jet G5220 (Dark Cherry Metallic) that I put Gretsch's High Sensitive Filtertrons in and Bigsbified and a Centerblock Jr G5655TG (Amethyst) that I'm waiting on a set of Duncan Psyclone Vintage for so I can do a comparison between those and the stock Blacktop Broadtrons and a set of Blacktop Filtertrons. Those have 500K pots, although I did swap the master volume in the Jet for a 1M.

Funny coicidense but the Filtertron st that I have will be going into an offset Tele body from Tuaro Woodworks:

This one is anothew body that I seem to have lucked out on in that I can't fault Tuaro with any complaints about the quality of the routing, etc. My only beef about it is that it seems a little on the porky side for an alder body, at least compaired to the last alder body that I built:

Oh well, at least this one will be a bit different in that it's getting a Snake head neck 😁 .

If your PUs are real style filtertrons instead of regular HBs with a filtertron cover, why not traditional Gretsch wiring with a MV.

I was actually thinking along those lines but the problem that I have to deal with in this build is that it all has to fit on a Tele control plate and while I might attempt to mount three pots on a Tele plate I doubt that I could squeeze four of them into this build(see the pic of the unfinished body above).
