Being such a great quality instrument the list of mods for this guitar is actually minimal but IMHO it was needed!
Swapped out the tremolo block for a guitar fetish brass block.
Swapped the saddles for graph tech tusq xl saddles.
The nut is synthetic bone going by the Fender website and has quite a bit of clear coat on its ends,so for now I'm actually gonna keep it, which is not normal for me,all my guitars have graphtech nuts!
Now the electronics is where I saw room for improvement! The pick-ups are Alnico 3 and I love all 3! The pots, switch, jack and wiring is where it needed help! So @rocknrguitars to the rescue. I ordered a 7 way split tone wiring harness and as usual the craftsmanship is untouchable, and the added tones are VERY usable, especially having a tone control on my bridge pickup, rolling off the tone on the bridge just a bit reveals this thick tone that I'm becoming hooked on!
This is the list of components used and the above pic shows the wiring harness itself! After messaging back and forth with Mike I decided to go with the Russian caps to stick with the classic vintage tones, I didn't want to veer to far away from what it is, a classic vibe 1950s! I've only played it for an hour or so but I'm loving all the new tones, and my ear is noticing the new block! After playing this guitar for the last month I got used to how it sounded and I'm noticing a difference and it's for the better!
Mike is offering us guitarists BEST QUALITY work at UNBEATABLE prices! That I Thank him for! I'll be picking up the new Standard Strat this week so I'm sure I'll be contacting you Mike!
Thanks to all who have given input to any of my questions regarding this guitar and it's mods!
If the sun shines tomorrow in Massachusetts,I'll be taking it outside for some proper pictures, which I'll share with you all!
