I’m starting to plan my next build. This is what I have right now. I would love to get a light blue Tele body with a white pickguard and chrome hardware. I found this one at Guitar Fetish, but it has a rear cavity for controls. Can I just put a Tele control plate over the front holes in the body? And will this body take a traditional Tele bridge with a cutout for a humbucker? Or is there another place I can pick up a more traditional body with humbucker routes for around $100
I had the same body in fiestas red. A telecaster bridge would not cover the rout. I used a strat hardtail bridge. A blank control plate might cover the holes if you drill it out. I never could find a pick guard that would fit the body perfectly, so I had to shape one.

That one doesn’t look too bad. But it’s the wrong time of year to finish a guitar. It’s cold here in Maryland. No painting until spring!
I have thought about that as well. Just buy a traditional Tele body and open up the pickup cavities to accept humbuckers. But my woodworking skills are in there infancy. So chopping up a brand new body is a bit scary!
Tone Bomb from Canada There on Ebay, awesome tele body's. 3 Coats of Turquoise Angellus Analine Shoe Dye, 8 Coats of Tru Oil Finish. https://www.ebay.com/str/tonebomb
Here too. They have some awesome body's too, very affordable. All the parts fit perfectly on my latest build. https://www.ebay.com/sch/nomoonlaser
When you contact ToneBomb, you just specify what you want and they will route the body for whatever pickup config that you want.
This guy is in Quebec and on fleabay And does custom Tele bodies only. His pricing is very reasonable but as far as I know he only works with pine and ash, maybe give him a shout, he's great to deal with:https://www.ebay.ca/itm/TELE-BODY-W...799824?hash=item2f519e6c50:g:SzcAAOSwLmBb6YaG
I would like to hear why as well. I’ve never bought a body from them, but their pickups and tremolos are good. I’ve heard mainly good stuff about their bodies and guitars. The main complaints I ever hear about them is shipping costs and customer service.
Be mindful of the white ash at least. I have a tele (P90 neck) body from him that I am replacing because the finished guitar was 11 lbs. It's a boat anchor...
