Glen. I was recently intentionally 30 minutes late for a get together with him and still drank a beer and a half before he arrived.

He was an army buddy named Ben.

The rest of us eventually developed the ACF, the "(his last name) Correction Factor", and subsequently applied it to whatever time he told us to meet him somewhere. Its range was 30-90 minutes, and was dependent upon specific variables.

Can't tell you why, but punctuality has always been important to me. I would much rather sit in an airport for an hour than run to catch a flight. And if you tell me you're gonna be someplace at a certain time and 45 minutes goes by without any comm, I'm starting without you or leaving.

Maybe it's from the Navy. You can get is a world of big trouble being late. In fact, you have to be on watch 15 minutes early. If you are there 10 minutes before, you are not 10 early, you are 5 late and getting written up.
