Is spray better?
I certainly wouldn't throw more money at something I didn't like. $200 was $180 too much to begin with.
I was asking in regards to a 2019 affinity stratocaster hss with a neck that wasnt completely sanded all the way.
The slick if keep it would probably just sand the hideous logo and head or paint black over logo.
Sanding the roughness off the back of a neck takes 5 minutes. You shouldn't even break through the sealer coat before it's smooth.
That is Slick
Theres lip. The skunk is down lower than the maple. And there's hardly any coat of any kind. Its the worst one ive seen.
I am liking your radios. 466.500 was my listing to. cq cq cq DX AW113. I miss my radio stuff
Have you thought of burning it? You're making a mountain out of a molehill really. Sand it until you can't feel it and then just play it. It's not a 1954 Strat...
The whole Slick line is pretty heavy, so boat anchor is always an option.
I had Squier Standard neck like this. Sand it till its smooth . Hit it with some 0000 steel wool or a fine scotchbrite pad and satin poly a couple coats on it
Hit it with the fine scotch again after a week and it will be slick.
Not earl slick tho ..lol
Ive been a amateur extra class operator for a while. I have lots of radios. Some with tubes. Some new some 80s. Kinda like guitars...the Japanese ones are high quality usually. I prefer yaesu and kenwoods mostly. I run mostly on the low bands like 80 75m. I should start a thread somewhere and see if theres other hams or radio people on here. This is actually my dont use very often table of stuff
Roasted maple? I think you're reading into this wrong. Im just bored asking questions w a grain of salt. I have 15 guitars and counting. Its not important. The lip is as thick as a fingernail so its not small. I dont want to expose the wood without a sealer. That was my point. It plays fine. I just like tinkering
I'd keep it, you can also buy a guitar skin if you wanted to down the road. You may have some leftover, to do the headstock also.
This one's cool.
Here's my new $180 Kramer that I just skinned recently. It transformed very nicely.
Another Amateur Extra here, got my ticket in 2013 in one shot, the "Trifecta" as one observer commented. Mostly 2m/70cm mobile on a Yaesu 7900, haven't bought a rig for HF yet. Prices and availability are still in that "Stupid" range atm.
Wow wow wow and more wow
Nice. I got my tech in January 2014 and had my extra by 2015 i think.
Kg7hvr I'm good on qrz. I talk all over from Arizona late around 9pm to 12am on 3.930mhz usually. Theres a group of us. Mostly az, ca, utah, sometimes Montana and idaho.
We also like to go hiking ish and i set up portable while the kids play.
Ive owned alot of radios and prefer older hf stuff. I sold my second 7300
I do have a new xiegu g90 and a ft891 and a ft818 for portable but i use a old tube hybrid yaesu ft102 it does about 200w so i never need to use my amplifier.
Radios are costly right now due to everything and preparations people i guess. I just got a tyt md-uv380 dmr ht for $65 a few days ago. So theres deals on some stuff.
If you have any hf questions i know a little. If you were close i might even have a hf radio for sale.
Regarding your Slick, and I'm reaching here, is it possible to route that headstock into a Tele shaped headstock??? Would it look any better? Would it even work???
Like I said, reaching.
A keep thinking of that Dixie Chicks song that came out back in the late nineties or 2 thousands something about Earl's gotta die.
I've got the bugera 1990 and the cheap crate cab Ready to load up in the truck but I can't decide if Earl's got to die
I had thought about that or putting Italy(a tele) voice to txt sucks... or strat neck on it but that goes above and beyond and the shame of it is this thing has really nice fret work.
I'm still trying to decide but we're going to be heading down to Phoenix here in the next hour or so once the heat dies down
I was actually looking at a $500 made in Mexico Fender player series but it's sold on the Scottsdale guitar centre
