Saw this local to me
Sounds like boss katana. It does alot once you use a pc with it
Stuff like a parametric eq and noise gate that cant be accessed with the front of the amp. Its almost like using a daw. And you can use the katana with daw software. Ive not really try it much yet. Ill have to look up the spark 40
I used a MOSFET 100 watt and JCM 900 on the other side, both reverb heads.
I will change up to JCM 900 SL-X and JCM 800, both without reverb, and separate reverb pedal. Even when not used ever, built in spring reverb clutters up the sound and makes it dark and compressed. I like the open sound and if I want to compress I can do that down the external effects chain. It’s similar to why Fender amp purists usually prefer older tweed amps before they employed reverb.
As I am learning in my synth playing that too much sauce is not good.
I can only see the Celestion (assuming you shared 4 photos) and I’ve not encountered those before but from what I hear they’re pretty good! A bit v30 like with a little less low end. If you feel you could do with a bit more thumb, bringing a couple of v30s (even the Chinese ones) and using it in an x pattern would probably sound awesome with those! And definitely moving them to ply cab with give a bit more punch.
Also the Marshall DSL40 is a killer amp.
Used Marshall DSL40 combos are plentiful, and a little cheaper, on Guitar Center dot com. Plus, they will guarantee it for 45 days.
I would recommend a Randal Diavlo over a Marshall DSL for what you want to do. I have both.
Keep the Mesa Boogie
Weak sauce. But nice
Its not heavy enough . I listen to what you guys might consider death metal. I played the dsl40 and the code something next to it. They sound very nice but come up short. I need alot more gain. More more more more
I bought the boss overdrive/ dist os2 pedal..nice 2005 flyer catalog too
This pedal seems pretty good. It doesnt color it up too bad and it gives it a big boost. One knob is bent. Oh well $40 for $102 pedal
Keep the Katana and learn to use it. Cpnsidering what you write some hotter pickups might also bring you some joy.
I was talking to the guy at sam ash and we came to same conclusion. He got rid of all his tube stuff and uses daws and stuff and some practice amps. The one tele has seymour duncan jb pickups. Ive got about 15 guitars. My bc rich warlock has the hottest pickups. I put a dimebucker in my slick sl54 and i have a Ibanez rg470mhz and a jackson js32tq both pretty hot but i really like the telecaster
This guy wants to trade for 2 of my guitars
Im tempted to trade my epi lp studio and a affinity telecaster for it. But i dunno
I got the 5150iii so we will see if i can sell it or use it lol
I had a 2010 epiphone les paul studio
A 2020 white affinity telecaster.
I never liked the way the studio sounded. The guitar guys at different places have said that it didn't resonate right. Anyway it was weird and muddy sounding and ive played other studios and they were not.
I heard the Lunchbox heads are pretty fun! They might lack the low end of their bigger brothers but they are very closely voiced. Since you’ve got the 6505 as well, you could always hook the 5153lbx into your 1x12, run the effects out into the effects in of your 6505 and run that through your 4x12! I bet that’ll sound huge
You have some nice kit mate
