Mods, why is this being allowed on the best forum on the internet? Trying to lose that ranking?
I clicked to see music suggestions, not egos on display.

I've messaged the members suggesting they put each other on ignore. I dont'w ant to delete a 49 page thread nor do I want to spend hours editing it. I spent a half hour this morning editing their posts on other threads.

Thanks @Afrika61 - Gotta love Prince, always a bit controversial, a unique artist - his dazzling musicianship on show in this clip:

That he was an incredible talant is an understatement, to say the least. But the song Purple Rain is something that, to my ears, has an almost anthem or hymm like quality to it. Years ago I had the sad duty to be a pall bearer at a dear freinds funeral and the choir at the family cemetary sang Purple Rain. As Jennifer and I left the cemetary we passed an eldery African and he had both a smile and tears on his face, so we asked if there was anything wrong. His reply was a direct refenence to the song and it's very telling:" If nKosi ever lacked or needed a voice, surely He would pick this one". 'nKosi' is an African word meaning "God" or, more accurately, "Lord". This man had never heard Purple Rain before but it had that much impact on him,...

Some real garage music here - 'Cardigan Road' by The Twitchers.
In fact, that's my Dad's old garage! and that's my nephew Rob the lead singer :) ... they're a local band in the English Lake District. Just such a contrast to Prince haha :D Cheers, rorygman

  14. Kenny Vaughn doesn't even crack a smile. Great player but way too serious at times. :)

  15. I heard this today for the first time since it was on the FM air waves back in the late 70's.

There's a groove in this that Jaco plays that someone suggests for a right hand picking exercise for bass players. Magnificent stuff.
