Since I started playing again (August of last year), I have had a horrific itch. One that would only be satisfied by a Tele of some nature... any nature. But, it is difficult to justify to the One Who Must be Obeyed two basses, two amplifiers, and two guitars in the space of four months. Enter the Squier Limited Edition Bullet Telecaster in LPB. It's got a lot of sparkle for a Lake Placid Blue, but that's what they're calling it. Anyway, for less than $200 I have satisfied the itch. And in my opinion, for an entry-level guitar, this thing swings and hits it! The neck was straight, it did need the frets polished and the fretboard oiled. Then I put some 11s on her, adjusted the saddles, and she sounds really good. There is zero fret sprout, the neck is nice and smooth. Since "no photos, no gear" here she is:
While I typically think that tele’s are about the ugliest gits on the planet, yours is kinda pretty. Grats to you for both the new axe, and seemingly avoiding any permanent injuries.
I bought my son that same exact Squier Tele 2 years ago on M.F. $129.00. Great Guitar. He loves it. Heres some proof.
Congrats on a guitar that's so much better than people will ever know. I have a Fender Strat, a Gretsch and a D'Angelico hanging on the walls by my office desk, and although I wouldn't kill to protect these I'd certainly maim for them. And when I reach for a 5 minute guitar break, I always grab my Bullet Telecaster. Go figure!
I had one of those. It's more of a "Ice Blue Metallic" than what I've always known LPB to be, but it's a beauty of a guitar. Still baffles me they can make a guitar that nice for that price.
I assume that it uses the bridge that "top mounts" the strings rather than string through? Am I just being stupid, or is there a big difference between the two?
Looks like you used Music Nomad F-One oil on the IL fretboard instead of lemon or mineral oil. It really brings out the color.
This is a string-through Bullet Tele. And, no I don't think you are being stupid. I believe that I read somewhere the string-through design is better for sustain?
Wow! Good eye, sir! I did, indeed, use F-One and am very pleased with the results. By the way; how did you know I did not use lemon or mineral oil?
