Tubeworks TD752. Made in USA by BK Butler of tube driver pedal fame. Original owner, bought from About Music in Broad Ripple in 97. Built like a tank. Great overdrive. Sounds just like the tube driver pedal. Let’s you also blend the clean and dirty channels - can get almost a TS effect. Doesn’t get much use these days so I need to pass it on.

Cosmetics are in great shape. Nice black tolex-not the nasty carpet covered like many of these! Reverb is a little noisy but works well. Channel switching a little wonky (gets stuck) on amp channel switch but works perfect w foot switch pedal (probs a easy fix if you know how). Speaker in this one is really nice.

Local sale Indianapolis area only.

Trade for :

Squire Vintage modified, classic vibe, or standard series guitars.

Equal pedal(s) equal value trade:

Seeking -
Wampler tumnus
MXR Timmy , Duke of Tone
Fulltone 69, 70, Fat Boost, GT500, Distortion pro, Plimsoul, fulldrive 3

I had the least expensive Tube Works combo amp, the 30W with a 10" speaker. It was one of the first amps I bought after moving to Hawaii. I liked it quite a bit, but sold it when I got my Peavey Classic 30. Have you played the Sugar Drive? I was very disappointed in it, and returned it pretty quickly. I found it too bright and not very dynamic, making it sound and feel nothing like a Klon circuit, IMO.

It’s a great amp - very under rated !!

Needs to get played tho!

I never had the original Chandler Tube Driver pedal, but I did have the Black Real Tube pedal, and the Ibanez Tube King clone of it. They all sell for stupid money now.
It’s crazy how much that stuff is worth now. Never had those but had an original Hughes & Kettner Tubeman w a 12AX7 or something in the pedal. Had a million options/selections/combinations but they were all just meh 🫤

The best tube driven pedal ever is the Mesa Boogie V-Twin. That thing is awesome! 6fb7cf00c06ab90e47be14151448b03c.jpg

Sorry I’m mighty guilty of responding before reading!

Haven't used the sugar drive. I’ll edit to remove - thanks Doug, I really value everyone’s input here !

I’m about 10-15 years behind on gear hype/GAS party since I started having kids. The only Klone I’ve played was a tumnus at Sam ash on a Princeton. It sounded mighty nice !

I haven't played one, but from the videos I've heard on YT, the Tumnus is one of the best. But, I can't afford one. I just have the Caline, Joyo, and Tone City Klons, the Caline Medusa and Pegasus, the Joyo Tauren, and the Tone City Bad Horse. My favorites are the Medusa and Bad Horse. Of course, for what I paid for those four I could have bought a Tumnus, lol. The Sugar Drive is the most expensive Klon klone I've ever tried, and the second most disappointing, with the worst being the EHX Soul Food, which I hated and couldn't get rid of fast enough.

I think I’m getting GAS get the best of me on that pedal. I can’t even name a recording/track that actually uses that pedal.

Came across this comment on the demo for the Plimsoul and thought is was a hoot !

Klons are like TS, some people love them and some people hate them. It also depends very much on the amp, which is very true of any OD or distortion pedal. I find that a good Klon style pedal does a very good simulation of a cranked amp, for a bluesy overdrive tone with a Strat. But, I don't have tube amps, and I use all OD pedals as low to medium gain distortion boxes into a clean sound on my modeling and SS amps. I love it when Josh at JHS points out to the people that own actual Klons, who rave about the magic unobtanium germanium diodes in them, that they are using their Klons as boost pedals, with the gain very low and the output level high, and the diodes have NO effect until the gain is over 2 o'clock, so they're imagining an effect that isn't even happening, lol. He uses Klons like I do, with the gain high and the output level slightly above unity.
