... and just as the lyrics state, "You were right before my eyes !!!"

My quest for the ultimate high gain tone is over. I found it ... and it was right before my eyes.

Joyo Bantamp ... the little Dual Rectifier clone that I picked up for $100 over the summer. It sounded like chit ... and nothing like a Dual Rectifier. I even hooked it up to an accentuator to control the volume, and it still sounded like chit. So I boxed it up and put it up for sale.

    Luckily, no one was interested.

So I figured since I was dabbling with the Katana, I may as well unbox the Joyo Bantamp. But this time I ran a cheapo $20 Behringer graphic EQ pedal in front of the accentuator in the effects loop. Gain and Volume on the Bantamp are on 10. I use the accentuator to control the decibels. Wow !!! Huge difference. It suddenly sounded ... saweet !!!

But it was a little dry. Needed some depth, so connected a mini Ammoon Echo Delay pedal in front of the EQ. Holy CHIT !!! This is it !! Well, at least almost ... but as close to that magical Metallica tone that I've ever come. Smokes. No issues with feedback like the Katana ... and useable Clean tone along with the heavy high gain dirt.

I'm really happy. I just wanted to run down to the computer and share my joy. Gonna go back up and bang my head a little to my new found tone of happiness. :)

Just think ... I've been searching for happiness far and wide, and it was right in front of my nose. Almost like how life works ... :)

but curious, now, if in your exuberance, this is how you managed to nearly break off the headstock on your Strat?:D

Yeah, I sort of wanted to go pedal-less ... and as you can see, all the wires and pedals make this a bit cumbersome. I just want to plug and play.

But with the added dimensions, the tone is really, really nice.

The headstock accident came from taking the guitar off with too much excitement to come downstairs to express my excitement. Thank heavens it was a Strat. An LP headstock would have snapped.

But for the moment, I'm content. There's actually nothing that I want at the moment ... other than to chug on my Joyo. Hollah. It's a great feeling. :)

Explorer would have lost it's head stock in my accident yesterday. But luckily it was a MIM Strat ... which took the hit and no damage. ha ha
