Bought this on SGW, a little first-gen 10 watt Marshall Valvestate 8010

Based on this picture I'm hoping "Powers on but no sound" is an easy fix

Have only repaired one - was the op-amp in the first stage. Hope it is the same for you.

Amp powered on and could hear a slight pop in the speaker was the symptom. I think you likely got a winner - circuit is not too complex. Keep us posted and yell if things get tricky.

I bought a crate rfx30 from sgw "does not power on"
But it was in perfect condition cosmetically so i went for it.

    The fuse had fallen out

Lol. Looks like the speaker is not connected. Hope that's all it is.

Yeah, connecting that speaker would be the first thing I’d try.. awesome deal if that all it is..

@pflug - how goes the little Marshall? Here is hoping it was just the speaker cable or the fuse on the board.

Gave it a standard "once over"- had a blown fuse as well as the disconnected wires. Cleaned the pots and jacks and went over the soldered connections on the board. Works great now and has a cool sound of its own

Great !!! I love these little winners. Most people avoid these, but if they're easy fixes, they turn into great finds.

    Hollah !!!
