Who’s got one already. I’m going to get one around Christmas time I think.
It needs a full length center block and normal humbuckers.
Just got mine Tuesday. I bought it online through GC, in case I wanted to return it easily. I believe it will be a keeper. Tuners seem to be better than the CV60 Strat I own, in terms of gear ratio. I like the headstock, so that seems to make me odd man out. My first experience with semis, and there's definitely a richness I'm not hearing in my Strat or MIM Telecaster. The pickups seem brighter or hotter, at least to my ear. Finish is flawless, action great right out of box. After it settles in, I'll dial in the intonation. Might be a little off on the Big E. Overall, it's more than I'd hoped for, and I'm glad I sold an Epi LP to fund it.
I've been looking down the f-hole of mine. Seems like the block is full length. How do I check? I've been liking the humbuckers, but could only compare them to the Pro Buckers on the Epi LP I sold to buy the Starcaster. The weight reduction is wonderful.
It is/was my understanding that it only had a a post for the bridge to attache to. Maybe yours is different than that or it was the Fender version.
I like those guitars. And I like the headstock as well. I’ve never played one, but I saw a show over the summer and the guitarist was playing one of these. It sounded great!
You've exposed my lack of knowledge. I look inside and see a solid block of wood running in both directions from bout bottom to neck, as much as I can see through the f-holes. The guitar has a ton of sustain, which I actually wasn't expecting.
Well then, they are better than I thought.
