I've never owned a Squier amp, but I read an article a while ago by a guy who puts better speakers in them and claims that they can really sing with a few mods. And I've often wondered if there was really much difference between say a Fender Sidekick 15 like the one I have, and a Squier Sidekick 15. I suspect side by side there would be little difference..

Should be the same amp with different cosmetics.

I bought a Made in Korea early 90's 25gr open back on a whim off of FB Marketplace for 40 bucks. Much to my amazement It has an actual spring reverb. Its has 2 channels Clean channel is actually pretty good and handles pedals better than most amps without an effects loop. Distortion channel has two gain knobs that you can go from pretty clean - Sizzle - crunch - hard rock to metal where you can get your pinch harmonics screaming and it chugs. You can also do some basic mods to it but I love the shock of it being totally stock. The tone knobs aren't just for show you actually get a fairly wide range of adjustment. Is it a Jazz Chorus or a twin reverb no but imho aside from a moderately expensive modeling amp its the perfect versatile bedroom practice amp that if push came to shove you could gig a small venue when your vintage tube amp has a stroke last minute lol.

Does anybody know which 80's Squier amp was small(like a 15 or something and had battery power option? I used to have one, but cannot remember which model.

Well,Puchingboy...I'll bet you are talking about the Sidekick 10..I have one, but it's labeled Fender......I'll bet they did Squier SK10s also.......but I don't know for sure.....Anyway it is a very sweet sounding amp, sounds way bigger than 10 watts output....

It came with a battery pack, that took "C" or"D" cells?.....but nowadays, I had dreams of putting in a 12V motorcycle battery in the back, for prolonged sessions.........Let'see if I can put up some pictures.......This is a VERY cool amp.....................willhowl
