That drummer looks so similar to Stewart Copeland.
Yes he does a bit. When I lived in Lebanon, Stewart and Ian Copeland were my best friends for a while. Ian was in my class at Manor House School and Stewart was a couple of years younger. But now I'm just a retired old git...but the memories are still there maybe fading a bit and with a rose tinted lens. Ian died a few years ago from melanoma..He was a realty nice guy. Thanks everyone for the likes for the video.

Loved that! Old guys with Bullet One Squiers Rule! Especially with Contemporary Bullet HSTs! Rock on, Brothers!
Thanks!! I had a USA Strat for a while and in many ways I preferred the Bullet. The body might be laminate but it sustains very well and the clean sound is beautiful. Next time I change strings I'm going to take a pickup out to see if it's alnico. If it's ceramic I'll be amazed. Thanks again ...Jerry

Thanks!! Stiff?? I Remember that. Unfortunately prostate cancer put an end to that sort of nonsense.

Sorry to hear that :(

The standard Squier Bullet pickups are usually ceramics. They aren't a bad sound I just prefer Alnicos for my stuff. My Bullet is an HSS and I have an old Wilkinson Neck Alnico 5 neck pickup in the Bridge and Tonerider TSR 1 Pure Vintage in the Middle and Neck positions :)

It's OK, I had a really good surgeon assisted by a robot. Wow, so they are ceramic? I play mostly acoustic these days so I probably won't change them, but thanks so much for that info. I managed to get a very good deal on a USA Martin D15 and a battered, but wonderful, USA Guild. D4. I'm obviously English but I was lucky enough to live in California and Lebanon in the Middle East and I just love American acoustic guitars. Sorry that last sentence didn't really make a lot of sense...Cheers...Jerry

I'm not a big Acoustic player but I would love a Martin or Guild. They are a ,"Gold Standard" IMHO :)

Yes, the pickups in the HST model are ceramic, at least the single coils are since they have external magnets. They look like these in pic 1.

These pickups have unusual bobbins and the original body cutouts prevent standard single coils from fitting in them without modification, but that can be done underneath the pickup surrounds and not be visible from outside. Here's an example of the bodywork that must be carried out to fit conventional pickups. Something like a Lace Sensor singles would probably fit with no issues. The original bridge humbucker is also a small pickup and when replacing with a modern one, you would have to perform grinding like shown here. It can still be done within the footprint of the original HB surround. You will have to drill one hole in the HB surround, since modern pickups don't use the 3 height/tilt screws used on the original pickup.

Hope this helps you guys keep rocking!

Wow thanks for that Michael. You guys are very generous with your help and knowledge. As I'm sure you know the specs. on this model are really good. Fender machine heads full size tremolo block and Fender saddles. I don't know if I am just lucky but the pickups on mine sound excellent, especially the 2 and 4 positions and the humbucker. I got mine brand new for £89 in 1989 (I think). It was a reject from a mail order company. I've done 100s of gigs with it in England and Europe. It's a real gem....if anyone comes across one Buy It!! Thanks...Jerry

The Guild was I guess a "cheap" model, but it is so loud and it sounds beautiful. The intonation is as perfect as a guitar can be. When I put new strings on it, it almost sounds like it's going through a chorus pedal. I also have a Taylor GS Mini E. If you're ever thinking of getting an acoustic I'd recommend one! They are made in Mexico but the quality is superb. Good Grief I sound like a salesman!! Sorry if I'm bragging...My wife wants me to sell a lot of my stuff and to be honest I don't blame her. I just love guitars..Cheers...Jerry

These guitars are advertised for wildly differing prices here in USA. On Reverb.com, which has the most MIJ Squier Bullets, they range from $400 to this crazily priced one at $900. It even has what appears to have the incorrect neck plate, since they should show 1985-1986 date code, not this A-series one held on by non-original screws.

Thanks Michael, I had a 1993 Japanese Squier for a while. It was nice but I think the Bullet is a better guitar. The serial number on mine indicates that it is a Korean model.
