Our 17# guard dog Leo! He's now about 14, also losing his hearing and eyesight. He's endured 3 surgeries on his right rear knee, only to also have the left one fail, but he keeps going on it with the scar tissue holding it together. His walking has actually improved since the picture in the carriage, since we found out he had a thyroid deficiency, the medication for which has improved his mobility a lot. Dementia is creeping in, and we frequently have to hand feed him. But he is happy every day, and he gives us great joy and much love. My wife and I no longer can travel together so that one of us is always home with him, and also with our senior kitty Diva. They are family, and we will care for them as long as we can.

I have a question for all my fellow forum dog owners.. Now please don't think I'm being silly.. Its a legit albeit whimsical pondering - do any of your beloved pets come up and listen to your guitar playing - eg you're on the porch or deck.. Has that happened to anyone?

Nope, my dogs, like most people, have no interest in hearing me play guitar! LOL

This is Cato (k-toe)
I got him when he was 30 days old.
He went everywhere with me, work included .
A great dog who was loved by many.
He changed a lot of minds about Rottweilers.
He was a never ending source of love, and humor.
He is missed each and every day.
He made me a better person.
I am less without him

My one dog used to howl and sing along when he was a puppy. Thinking back on it, pretty sure he was begging me to stop haha. The other dog is mostly deaf, so he sticks around when I play if he’s comfortable enough.

Absolutely, Minnie sits up on the wife's chair and doesn't take her eyes off me when I play.
