Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is just gross???? How can anyone let a neck get this nasty????? At least clean the neck before you try to sell or trade it

    Sorry, rant over........ IMG_2903.JPG IMG_2904.JPG

I’m with you, I don’t understand why people don’t take care of their instruments.

    Agreed.

If your fretboard is going to look janky at least make it from playing wear and smokes, not grime.

Lol... This reminds me of Mike Campbell from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers... I was watchin his "Rig Rundown" and evidently he fired a tech for cleaning one of his maple fretboards... I guess some people prefer gunk... But you're exactly right, if you're attempting to sell said instrument... I was looking at a little used blue Bullet Strat at the Nashville Sam Ash, and when I took it off the hook, someone had spilled a damned coke all down it, and I know the conversation went somethin like this; "Hey, boss... Want me to clean that guitar off?" "It's a SQUIER... Mark it 75 bucks and hang it up..."

I've seen more than a few..
I was invited to sit in with a band one night to play lead..When the lead player handed me his Strat, I took one look and suddenly remembered there was somewhere else I needed to be..
He never ask me to play his guitar again..lol..

For 30 bucks and a maple neck I will take the gunk with it.

    And happy NGD!

I would look past mere gunk to get something I wanted but it's still gross and wouldn't be there long after I got it home (or ever again).

Well, here it is cleaned up, polished frets, & new strings. It will need a new nut, tuners, & pickups, and a bridge. Not a big fan of the 3 saddle bridge.

I left my MIM Fender Duosonic stock, just had to recently replace the nut after 25 years. Super little guitar!

I'm a recent "offset" owner... Got myself one of the little Bullet 'Stangs and after a new graphite nut, locking Fender tuners (I KNOW, I KNOW, they cost almost as much as the whole guitar, lol) and a little work rollin the fret ends and board, it's an awesome little guitar... I love your Duo... I wish you'd posted a "full-body pic"... From what I can see, it's really sharp...

My sister-in-law just bought a used Takamine and I dont think it was ever cleaned of taken care of. Fretboard was dried out like a piece of driftwood and had green oxidation on the frets right at the fretboard. for an x-mas present I agreed to clean, restring and set it up for her. It looks like a brand new guitar now. I have never (in person) seen a guitar so neglected. When I took the strings off the nut fell off! Its an old EG240 from the 90's with a peizio pickup in the bridge and it still works!
