Sounds beautiful! Post a pic!
Thank you. I have no idea exactly "what" it is. There is a guy on Ebay that sells them every so often. I forget his name, but he's from Ripley, MS. When he finishes one style he moves on to the next. They end up going for say $75-$150, generally speaking. I bought one for a friend of mine, almost as a goof, but when it got there, it wasn't half bad, so I bought one for myself. It is cheap as hell, as you can see he uses p-bass pickups, the headstock is dreadfully ugly, the tuners are god-awful, the wood on the neck is basically unfinished, and the funny thing is it sounds astonishingly good. When I A/B it with my Rick 360/12, ok, its not that good, obviously, but its not a laugher either. Go figure.
$350 in 1990 would buy lots more than now. Lol
I almost bought a snakehead Tele from that guy! Nice guitars !!!
Really interested in these bass guits---and I really like those black strings!
$656.49 in today's money, it was an awesome deal, you can't deny it, lol.
I seen it, played it, put it back. . The woman I later married -divorced, said as we ate a burger, " put it on layaway, or you're going to miss it and regret it.." First & last time a woman told me I had a green light. Lol..
seems like a lifetime ago..
another Sq-T memeber turned me on to these...
They look great (especially on the red/black), but I really like them for the sound. A pleasure to play as well!
Here's the new with the old
This is the Duo Sonic I built out of an old Mahogany door. Rose pups are yummy
Squier Duo-sonic I painted.. I no longer have
Tele-Duo-Stang.. ? . thang I built of one piece of Sapele..
Another thing I built from that same old door
This one I built is from 90 year old Pine
This was also built from 90 year old Pine/Douglas fir
Did this one out of some scrap Sapele
This one's been on the work bench for about a year
....and this.... I think that's it.... for now anyway
Love the Doorcasters!!! I'm impressed!
Although I won't be specific out of a desire not to hurt feelings... Wow, there some zoogly guitars IMO seen as being "offsets!"
(okay, and some pretty cool ones too)
I forgot to shoot pics of my others last night, but here's my new favorite.
Heh. I was going to post pics as well but yours looks nearly *exactly* like mine, though mine has no buzzstop.
just after posting the pic of my Mascis, I remembered this newly acquired Talman that I'm absolutely loving...way more than I had expected. It's an absolute pleasure to play.
The Talman is the only Ibanez that I am a fan of. Looks delicious
Squier Jaguar (With Wild Turkey Mod )
Fender Japan 70s Reissue Jazz Bass
I've posted the HH Fender JM. Here are my other three.
1) Squier VM Jaguar Olympic White.
2) Squier VM Jazzmaster Sonic Blue.
3) Peavey Retro Fire guitar. Bought it as part of a kit. The pearloid cover on the PG is peeling, but it's still a great player for a super cheap guitar. Great tuners
I have a few but these are my favorites hands down.
Both have been modded .
