Positive vibes sent your way! I’ve messed up my knee badly over the years. Had surgery on it three times. Docs say a replacement is likely in my future as well.

My mom had this done probably 5 years ago now. She did exactly what the doctors told her she had to do during the physical therapy no matter how much it hurt (she’s a stubborn old lady like that) and has been pain free ever since.

Do what the doctors say and you should be fine! Good luck.

Good thoughts going out to you and the medical staff working with you. As others have said, follow their instructions and DO NOT slap your physical therapist. You will be amazed at the results when its done.

I feel for you. I need both knees AND my right hip replaced but with all this Covid crap going on I have to wait. Plus I have no one to drive me to therapy or anywhere else. Also my GF is in no shape to help me at home when I need it.

Hopefully all goes well for you and you up and around soon!

Your response is so very humbling, thank you so much!

All has gone well (except for my throwing a nurse out of my room). The surgeon simply said my knee was "worn out". I do have a lot of miles on my wheels.

Thank you also for your encouragement of what lies ahead. Actually had two 15 minute PT sessions prior to release today. Hurts, uh huh. I am a self admitted wimp when it comes to pain, I have a low tolerance. Time to suck it up. Yes, as some said, time and tears spent today will benefit the future. I also need the proper attitude and positive recovery in order to get the other side done.

It is amazing to me this procedure is now considered a simple, run of the mill surgery. Hips too.

For 26 years I ran and very rarely enjoyed it. Even before Uncle Arthur set in I did not mentally enjoy distance running. Optimistically I wonder with two new, pain free wheels if I could possibly enjoy some light, healthy jogging. I'd better not put the cart ahead of the horse.

Squier-Talk, thank you so much again.

I now frequently have vivid dreams about running. I wake up thinking that I had actually done that. It is just a dream. I cannot imagine running. I hope you have better luck.

Best wishes, bud. I've lost count of the new knees installed in family and friends. All did their PT as prescribed and are happily, painlessly, mobile.
