After over a decade of pain, whining, and lots of limping I am getting some new hardware installed this morning. I have dreaded this and the associated painful rehab. Yet I attempt to look beyond that.

I'd appreciate any prayers and good vibes. Oh yeah, please keep the med staff in mind too. Thanks!

P.S. Out of no where my brain started singing this the other day. Can you believe my therapists say I am not insane? Haha. Get the tune 'Seasons in the Sun' going:

Goodbye to you my trusted knee
We ran together since we were two or three
Hikes and bikes and baseball too
Soon we'll be as good as new

Bobby Jack song. I remember this. Good luck with surgery. If its a knee, I have heard they have come a long way with both the surgeries having less pain and the rehabs out being as bad.

Look at it this way, you are fortunate to be able to have this procedure, many can't afford it,
    Peace and speedy recovery

Surgery's the easy part ....had both hips replaced last summer (6/1 and 8/10) ...they gave me something to relax, and then, when it's actual surgery time, they start the IV medication and you'll be out like a light....next thing you know, you come out of it and it's over, like magic - no memories of the ordeal, no dreams, just missing time. Yes, there will be pain post-op and for some time afterwards, and be mentally prepared for rehab - you have the right to decline to do something they want you to, but do your best to cooperate with the rehabbers, it's worth the effort and pain. I don't know what the post-op procedure is with knees, but I had my surgeries first thing in the a.m., and they had me up on my feet by late afternoon.....and then late the next a.m., and I was sent home with my wife......less than 30 hours after being admitted, I was outta there  you'll be fine .... my copies of the x-rays are amazing, crazy to think I have a titanium ball and socket with rods in each hip.....my wife says they put the wrong size in, and that I'm now shorter.....yeah, haha, funny lady

Just relax, follow all instructions/rehab/exercise offered, deal with the pain, and eventually you won't even notice - my hips feel so good, I'd never know I had surgery if it wasn't for the scars.....but, hey, chics dig scars, right? ;) You'll be fine
