Let's see you when you were, ahem, younger.
Me at about 38
A pic of me and my (now) wife at the end of a 1989 8 day/7 night white water rafting trip down the lower half of the Grand Canyon, where we met.... I don't really look much different, other than the hair and beard are now silver with hints of red in the beard, and I've packed on some pounds over the 30 years
Here are some of me throughout the years.
At about 16 years old
22 years old
And this was my 30th birthday.
Back before Nintendo existed we made our own kind of fun.
I miss those glass coke bottles with the styrofoam labels, back when coke was still made with real sugar. Those were the days.
Me on the left at my first public performance in 1970 at the tender age of 11. My dad (who's '57 Gibson I still own) and my sister and a cousin.
Although I'd been playing a year and a half already, this is the earliest picture of me holding a guitar.
Must've been quite a delivery
Good thing I wasn't playing a BC Rich...
The kid with the cigarettes looks like trouble. lol
Coincidental to see this thread for my Facebook "Memories" page had this one pop up this morning...
'Twas the Spring of `69. Jan and I had been playing in a band together for about six months or so. Realized that our relationship had become much more than that and decided to wed.
Neither of our families were at first pleased. We'd known each other too short a time. Jan had just turned 18. I was only 22. But wed we did -- sitting on the floor in the small living room of the apartment we shared with all the band. Surrounded by just they and a musician friend who was also a Christian minister.
Our families came around quickly and that photo was taken after a visit to my parents home where they'd hosted a party to introduce Jan to the family. The bags are the booty from that party. The smiles were all our own.
Still have 'em by the way. She's still my best bud and I hers.
Love seeing these pics! Keep them coming!
Back in 1973 when this was the only thing more important than guitar, even girls.
1st one is a southern rock band I was in around 1981. That's me holding up the wall on the left. 2nd one was probably 85 or so. 3rd one was while I was still in high school so maybe 77 or 78.
90's when grunge and hair was 'in' ...
1967, you'll probably have to squint. I'm the one with the eye patch playing the Gibson ES330.
The Clairol Caravan was a combination fashion show and rock show that wandered the parks of New York City in the summer of 1967. This shot was from an August 23rd performance at Queensbridge park.
The patch was a medical necessity due to corneal deterioration, not a prop. The band was The Rites, shortened from The Last Rites at the insistence of Decca records. My how times have changed.
Twirling the drumsticks in my basement. Probably the first actual rehearsal of the first band I was in back in 1986. Nice Rush and King Crimson albums on the wall! My buddy Luis with his Gibson LP. Kid could play. Still can. Still my best musical partner over the decades...
This is me at around 3-4 years of age.
The '70s ! I miss those bell bottoms. You really don't want to see what I look like now
