Here’s another of mine. A used Jay Turser strat style I picked up that’s waiting to get some TLC, new strings and a set up. We’ll see about whether I want to throw in some GM pups after I play and can hear the stockies. I hope that it lives up to the “love to play” standard once I get to it F23E86F7-3B27-4F76-8C7C-433A146BC90D.jpeg 0E274956-352B-4743-ABBF-9E463D07233C.jpeg 39F102FB-1408-4D2F-93CA-9ACACB30B18B.jpeg

Wow. Is this a photo finish top? Or is that the real grain.

Dragonfire makes a damned good pickup. I have a DF Hotrails in one of my Homebuild Teles. It most definitely Chugs.

I think it’s the real wood. Seems like it, but how could I tell? Actually maybe the carve out in the body is a clue.

Sometimes it's difficult to tell. You can take the neck off and look in the neck pocket. Or maybe inside the pickup cavity, or control cavity and see if it's a constant wood. Sometimes you may see a laminate cap over the top of the wood in the cavity's.

The rear tummy cut's pattern is certainly unusual, but I'm not certain whether it's a lam top or not. Still tis certainly a good looker, irregardless if it's lam or not! I'd definitely would keep it!

Yup, that's what I do with LPs to determine whether the maple top is real or just a veneer ...or sometimes both, LOL!

I think the guitar was made by Kawia/Teisco.

Nice score!! I think they are great. I had a third one spotted but the pawn shop burned before I could get the guitar. Guess I didn't really need another one but I hate it was destroyed. Congratulations on the great find.

Well thing thing landed on my lap about.,,?,,? 3 years ago? I dunno, but anyway it was a Strat of some name. I reshaped and painted, I think I bought it for the neck which is long and forgotten by now. I vaguely remember it sounding decent. Don’t ask what it was, I can’t remember. The neck? Don’t ask, I don’t remember. I do remember it being a real pita to get it playing good, and now it’s actually a fun little rocker. For about the $40 I have invested into it,,,I’ll keep chugging along with it,

@Benlostforyears just told me about a 1972 National FT 440-2 Finger Talker, it looks like another one.

I was asking about covered tele bridge pup similar to the neck pup.
