Just got this poor old girl today with a hard side loader case for $30. Can't wait to see what it looks like naked.

Looks like an Affinity from where I am sitting, in need of a clean by the looks of it too... HNUGD.

How can you tell that by looking at it - other than the LP speed knobs ?

Well, it says "Affinity" on the headstock. in black (so before 2013). The angle of the bridge pickup shows it is pre 2006/2007. Standards also had a "modern" bridge, but the angle is like (or if not exactly the same, then "more like") the regular Fenders on that model.
The colour: I have never seen a standard in this colour, not on pictures not in real life. But I did almost buy a second hand Affinity in the exact same colour...

It's all in the clues... but the headstock was a giveaway! :)

It could be older, but not younger... and 06 is more than 10 years ago... some people buy reliced guitars brand new... ;-)

    $30, outstanding!

This one reminds me of those late night adds ...

"Just $30 can save this one abused guitar ... "

Glad you gave this puppy a good home! Can't wait to see what you do w her!

HNGD! $30, what a steal. If this keeps up we're going to have to start the bail fund for our guitar thieves. :D

Ok boy's , well thanks. It is an affinity. It's serial birthdate is CY00. Looks like a dog or rat or something got ahold of that headstock. Lol
Got it as seen in pics . Covered in cigarette smoke and bad choices I'd say. Up close it looks like crap! There's a crack in the finish at the neck pocket. That's only one of the reasons I'd want to strip it.

It definitely has a ground problem as I found after putting string on it. The neck is pretty nice , actually, feel wise frets are ok for now. Pg is cracked n broken at screw holes. Tried to clean with naphta but not the pg just neck n body and still looks bad.

Doesn't really have a reliced look. More like it got left on the porch too many times. As all the rust would attest. You guys have good eyes but I'm surprised no one noticed the Saddles.

It's on the list for refurb n refinish. At least the body n electronics anyway

I think I'm going to do something similar to that rally I want to get form you Chef. Not sure how the head stock could be fixed and look right. I was thinking maybe I could cut off the bad part and cut a new piece , but then I'd have to paint the headstock whatever body color I'd decided to go with.

Could just leave it I guess and name the guitar chewy... IMG_0322.JPG

I would leave it as is, adds that wee bit of "who you looking at" character...
