That was the first thing I noticed too... not the dual ceramic bars. What a great deal.
Nice to meet you! NT has lock on best pizza (Good Guys) and wings (Klimeks).
Love the natural finish good buy enjoy!
When things chill we have to do a meet and jam ? lol Your right on the pizza - I don't think I've had wings from Klimeks ? Maybe we can do some wing age when we are allowed to !
HNGD! Looks great!
Real nice deal on a great-looking guitar! Good grab!
Really nice score, congratulations.
Me too. I haven't been up to Buffalo in awhile. But as a former UB alumni, I do miss the place.
After 5 years at UB, I had trouble adjusting back to life in NYC.
I can imagine - NYC is action packed - buffalo = much slower pace ?
How can you tell that they're Tex Mex and not some other Fender Alnicos with teflon (or is it pvc) hookup wire?
Congrats, very nice.
The color of the wires for bridge/middle/neck (black/red, black/yellow, black/white), the style of bobbin and lack of ceramic magnets on the bottom - I've memorized them all. The only other pickups that use that bobbin were the old American Standard pre-fat 50s pickups.....and they had very different color wire hookup......plus tex mex is a SUPER common upgrade, it's the cheapest set Fender sells so you find them a LOT.
You are an incredible resource! I came across many of your comments on the forum and they are always spot on
Btw, according to a couple of sources, the upgraded pickups could have come stock with this special run.
Also, the price for new in 2006 was $449
Congrats. My 06 Fender Strat is my favorite guitar to play. From what I understand that's the year they stopped using the vintage narrow frets and also changed from a small to a full size block on the trem. I put TexMex pups in it as well and now I wouldn't change a thing. Enjoy. Heres mine.
