That's just beautiful!
Great guitar, HNGD!
I didn't know they came with a double cutaway.
I must admit I wasn't up to date on Gibsons line myself, just thought they were out of my leauge price-wise. Got som bad GAS when I first saw these doublecuts and when this popped up for sale at 1/2 price of retail I got in touch with the seller right away. PO bought it in june, was missing the gigbag but that is not a concern for me.
PO had it tuned to C# with 011's so I need to put on some slimmer strings to make it more playable in E-standard. He included some 009 that I will put on later today.
You might have to work on intonation with such a big string gauge change.
Not a double cut fan but that's really classy.
Congrats! She’s a beauty! Just something about a Gibson. I love em’ !
Unless I am mistaken, that is a Tribute Les Paul and is the opening price point for Gibson. Still, with that authentic Gibson P90 it is a heck of a buy. I'm still doting on my new Epiphone Custom Pro Koa. It will keep the GAS at bay for a while.
HNGD! Those are great guitars, I predict you're going to have a lot of fun. Just something about 1 P90, 1 Tone, and 1 Volume. So simple and direct! I love it!
Congrats. She's a beauty.
Love double cuts! That’s a beauty.
Some time ago I read an article written I think with the help of Leslie West on finding the best sounding old Jr. They played a host of them and rated each one's tone. To their surprise the best sounding were all double cuts. They could give no explanation. Just were.
Cool lp man! R&R machine.
Great choice! Congrats!!
They have one of those at my local GC....
I have been working on it for a few months trying to get the price down.
I got them down from $600 to $525.
my offer was $500.
Not too bad really, it is a 2019, really is like new, but the only thing is that they have some still new on closeout down to $600.
Next month I'll offer $450...…
just because I do want one.
it's a beauty.
Extra g is for gorgeous !
Pretty Sweet HNGD
First, that's just plain old fashioned sexy. HNGD!
Les Paul double cuts--my man Gary played them occasionally. A custom builder in St. Lou made the LPs he played most even though his Gibby collection was substantial.
I read that article before I got this. They invited several LP jr. owners to bring their best sounding guitar for a comparison. Most thought single-cuts would be best so the majority was SC, but when they nailed down the top five, most of them was DC.
