That’s gonna be super nice. Can’t wait to see it completed
Wow. Very nice work.
Love getting those kinda deals, even if the trem and verb don't work it will still be mojo tone..
Ya I'd love to get the trem and reverb working. But ya it actually sounds pretty good with the oil 10" gibson speaker. I'll use a 12" I believe.
Do you have gut shots of the chassis? The main caps to change are the filter caps. They wouldn't be orange drops. Maybe we can see an obvious problem with the verb and trem. Nice amp!
Edit to add: I went back and looked at the first picture. The filter cap "can" is the long metal thing hanging down by the power transformer. The values should be printed on the can. That should really be changed out if it hasn't been already.
Edit #2: If you're not familiar with amp workings, I wouldn't recommend messing around in there. The filter caps in that metal can hold a charge and can be deadly even if the amp is unplugged from the wall. You may already know this. I've been zapped before and DC voltage ain't no fun.
Ok... Whatta ya see hoss...
I know how to discharge an amp. Have recapped an old Maggie . that's about as far as it goes..
Nice project you got going on. Hnad
I'd say it's a score.
I'll have to look at it closer tomorrow with fresh eyes. Looks like it's had a complete cap job. Kind of hard to tell, but it appears the filter cap can has been replaced. The voltage dropping resistors on the filter caps have definitely been changed. Looks like a decent job.
It's getting better and better !
Awesome job so far BT. It's looking real nice. $100 is a score. I wish I had wood skills. Maybe in my next life. And Yeah your right, Wood is thru the roof. OMFG I can't believe it. $60 for a piece of Plywood at Home Depot... WTF
Ok we put some sealer on this the sevening... Here's where were at.
@bigtuna I've got an old Accu reverb unit, about 17" long, in the vinyl case. Yours if you need it.
Wood is thru the roof, HD 2 x 4's $8.25, they were $2.45 a couple of months ago. But reverb units are still free.
Wow mighty nice of you. Yes I think I may be interested. Pm incoming.
Ya I run the pro desk and millwork dept.at home depot. I hear that everyday. But it's crazy like a commodity price goes up and down all the time. But lately up up up
Cool--bringing that baby back to life!
This amp is going to be so dope...
