Ok I got this yesterday. From g.c. online website.. Older gibson hawk tube amp with reverb and tremolo. I said to my self sheet that might be kinda cool. And was marked down to $299. A bit high I know. I called the store in Shreveport to find out if it had the power cord changed out. The store mgr gets on the phone says amp has issues works but has issues. He said NO RETURNS $100. and he will pay shipping. I said he'll ya. I'll take a well it came in the amp case is beat to sheet. Lol and was missing 2. 12axt tubes. Well I dug thru the parts bin and found one tube. So still missing one for the reverb circuit. BUT SHE RUNS.. And sounds pretty good. So I'll start building a cab for the head. Enjoy. Has had the power cord upgraded and looks like full recap with orange drop caps. 20210429_123658.jpg 20210429_123718.jpg 20210429_123753.jpg 20210429_123819.jpg 20210429_093749.jpg

Yes thank you. I'm out and about at the moment. Swinging by the local guitar store to pick up another 12axt or ax7 any way just called and they have some. Then I'll head home and do some final testing on the trem and reverb. The disassembly. And start sanding the cab

Looks like I got a bit of diagnostic work. Which I suck at. Tremolo kinda noisy buzzing and reverb not working. ???

Ok providing I get the trem and reverb fixed. Would this be too redneck if I mounted the footswitch to the outside of the cab?? 20210429_163305.jpg

Those joints are tight side to side. But the problem with reusing old wood you see the center 3 or 4 finger joints have a gap at the bottom from the board cupping. Oh well it is what it is. I'm ok with it. Recycle reuse. Price of wood is thru the roof.

I may use the ole grey mare for the speaker cab. It's a single 12 vintage alnico . but the cab is only 16x16 I believe and I'm trying g to figger out where to mount the reverb tank. It's one of the 17" ones. 20210415_102923.jpg 20210408_191432.jpg 20210408_191439.jpg

And the head will look something like this.. And I'll build a lil filler plate for the open spot. 20210429_171659.jpg
