I’ve started his neck along time ago, and I also started this fretboard along time ago and misplaced it , I thought Mrs. corn threw it in the fireplace, :( but I found it and grabbed the blank neck and thought hey, this might work.
Fretboard is Canarywood, neck is flame walnut. Thinking on doing bullet casings for fret dots. There’s a screw up on this neck that maybe or maybe not you will catch, either way it will work on a custom build

Cutting bullet casings isn’t that easy, I’ve done it before and it didn’t seem to bad , maybe I lost my touch? Drilling hole depth is tough, too deep and the casing wants to sink or float in the epoxy, and if it’s too shallow it won’t push down far enough. Ideally you want it to be just a CH under the fretboard service, this way you can add more epoxy on top and sand flush. Plastic dots are so much easier. Did I say it’s messy? Well it is :)

Well I got some things accomplished, mainly sealed and fretted. Hopefully I’ll get the final clear coats on soon. this thread is not as old as I thought, I thought it’s been like 3 months lol

Beautiful! Have you seen Dan Erlewine's method of completing the finish before putting in the frets?

No, I have not seen it, but I have tried fretting the entire neck before any finish and I also tried getting the neck completely finished before fretting ,(that’s tough) this one, kind of falls in between ,which I think I am liking the best so far. This way I do the fret level last and dress the frets
