NBD: Squier II

    50301F5B-17CE-4341-8D2E-ABC3567048E9.jpeg Deals have been scarce or gone in a second lately, but I did scoop this up. It makes an interesting contrast to my CV60’s In Fiesta Red.

    It’s in great shape and plays fine. I don’t think the truss rod will go further, but I think it will be good as-is.

    I think this is a model that would sell for Squier these days, and the hard rock/metal/hardcore crowd would eat it up. No pickguard and change the hardware to black.

    Hey danzigdan,

    How do you like the neck on that bass? I used to have one exactly like it years ago, same color even, but I really don't remember how it played. Plus, at that time I really didn't know the instrument like I do now, and how I like things set up. But upon reading about those basses, I always read where the best thing about them was the neck. What's your input on that?

    Yes, the necks on Squier II basses and guitars are pretty nice; gloss finish with a much lighter tint, good fretwork and I like the profile. It feels like at least a MIJ neck. These guitars have always alluded me at a decent price so I jumped on this one.

    Edit: Oh and the licensed Schaller tuners are good too.
