I recently flipped a guitar for $60 profit, so my gear fund was unusually high.

I found a guy locally selling a guitar and this amp. But I wasn't interested in his Epi 339.

Offered 100 for just the amp. He countered at 130, and we landed on 120 as the final price.

I have plenty of tube amps, but I've been wanting a nicer SS amp for a little while now.

I think this will do just fine.

HNAD! Always thought the Katana was one of the best SS amps around, sounds like you got a good deal. Enjoy!

Broke my Kat 50 out this morning. Hadn’t played it in months. Forget how great it is.

I'm looking at getting a Kat 50 MkII but I noticed that Sweetwater has the older model on closeout for $179.99. I wonder if there are enough differences to justify the difference? Andertons as done some great reviews using the 50 watt 12" combo and I think it's a winner if you are looking for a good sounding, simple to operate modeling amp.

Congrats! That should clean up real nice. Make sure you download the software and hook the amp up to your computer. Lots of tweaking is available at the click of the mouse!

Justin Guitars does a whole series on these amps. He does a pretty good job going over everything.

I wasn't looking for a modeling amp at all, but I had the cash to spare, and couldn't resist the bargain on this. I haven't played any of the MKII versions, but this does plenty for me to not worry about the upgrade.

I haven't made any adjustments from the PC side, but I did make sure the firmware was up to date so I could use a regular (non Boss) footswitch with it.

In the other Katana thread that I think Eddie started, I promised @Caddy a demo to see how close it could get to Fender clean tones this weekend, but we left the dogs out while running errands and they made a mess of things in the house so I have to delay that again, and hopefully will get to it sometime this week.

Oh, the joys of dog ownership! Been there done that. LOL. And for some reason we keep bringing these animals home!

    That's like brand new dusty.

Mine was a neglected one, punked suited it better. Paid $135 for it, sold it for $185.
