    hello everyone,
I just wanted to share some photos of my 1982 JV Squier Telecaster that I recently picked up in an auction. It is all original, even with the 3 position switch and the “dark circuit” on the first position.

As you can see, the neck dates april 17 1982 and the serial number makes it one of the first runs imported to the UK back then. Plays really well. Love the neck!
Definitely shows its almost 40 yrs but in pretty decent condition all thing considered.

    Welcome to the forum!!

This isn't a JV Squier, it's a JV Fender - Squier Series....different animal, was in the Fender catalog....higher end than Fender....the first run had Fender for the main logos....

These are gaining in value, I assume you paid over 2K quid.....

    Very nice!!

thank you for the detail. i am still learning about its characteristics here and on 21frets. i know it’s special, and other than its historical value, it sounds sweet. i really wanted a player’s guitar and not just something to keep in the case.

although i think it’s about as close to owning an “important “ guitar as i’ll ever get!

A truly great catch. There weren’t too many of the Squier Series exported out from Japan, the next revert to the Squier label prominent. Never seen a Tele before either . One of the first and in good condition too it seems. Enjoy…

Funny, your serial number is on the neck plate just like mine ! They usually are on the bridge.

i think the very first fun of the JV series had the serial number on the neck plate, later moved to the era-correct bridge plate. i am not sure though.

    what serial number is yours?
