I was just thinking about this, what are the guitars you have seen here that you can immediately associate with one of our fellow SqTalkers? The top 3 in my mind would be @dbrian66's yellow strat, now I can't see any yellow supercar without recalling this guitar. @Eddie's Explorer, even if we haven't seen it yet, and neither has he. @Paruwi's black FGN, every time someone posts an all-black or black and gold guitar, I remember his collection. Special mention to @RhinestoneStrat's guitars because of their peculiar looks.
I forgot about the SG. But your right, anytime I see a green SG, which won’t be often, I will think about Don!
Supro guitars (especially models like thd Dual Tone, and Black Holiday) always remind me of @duceditor Any Explorer type makes me think of @Eddie I think it's @dbrian66 that has the cream and crimson sort of blocky refinished strat. @beerbelly and the Astrocaster I want to say... @DougMen and the FSR bullet Teles Offset guitars make me think of @VealCutlet and @BorderRadio (sorry @offsetj) And any Stagemaster would be @aoresteen Edit: Yes, I know I went a little bit vague toward the end of this list
Eddie's Gibson Explorer hands down and it's the most talked about Explorer on the internet as far as I know with me just adding yet another post on a specific guitar. I have had eight or nine Gibsons and this community is all SGs, Les Pauls, and 335s. Flying V's get some traction as do the J-200s, but Explorers and Firebirds get very little love from the Gibson community. It's like Fender which has lots of models like Duo Sonics and Starcasters in order to cast a wide net, but talk online centers around strats and teles. When Eddie's Explorer arrives, we will talk a little about it some, but then the radar on Explorers and internet posts will yet again diminish. I do remember a time when the Gibson Explorer that Hetfieid owned was talked about, and Kirk's V, but the whole ESP thing stopped that talk.
It may be sacrilege, but this is where I learned of the Firefly models at Guitar Gardens website. When I think of this place I think of Squire Bullet Telecasters and Firefly guitars.
Anything Supro is totally @duceditor - amps or guitars. @JeffJam any Made In China Strat with rosewood fretboards. @Eddie - the white whale Gibson Les Paul that got away. @PangPang and the family players with a Sonic Blue Surf VM Strat w/lipstick pickups Should make baseball cards of members' guitars or something like that.
Lol! That would be great, adding some cool stats. Eddie's Explorer could be just a picture of a lot of NC Squiers haha It's great to read all your responses and see how we know each other! Don't forget about @MrYeats. I tend to think of his guitars and demos whenever I see some cool gold pickups, or crazy finishes.
@corn and @jamesgpobog are 2 builders that work from scratch and literally make some fine instruments.
Those 2 come to mind for me definitely. @MrYeats has some cool homebrew stuff too, of course. Might be recency bias but being an offset fan, I'm digging @speelyei 's new Jag with the gold foils. So many of y'all have a bunch of gorgeous instruments, I can't even keep track. It's usually the super custom/off the wall ones that stick out
