Got a chance to get two Squier Standard Strats for one
price.

The seller is very close by and will bring them around noon
today.

I'll post photos of the repaired areas with the necks off for
more opinions.
Wanting to know if these are going to be an OK deal to
re-repair them or pass on them.

One is green and the other is red with a black burst.
They both look mint in photos but, both have had cracks
repaired at the bridge posts.

Production year: 2000 (serial: IC000910329)

Crafted in Indonesia by Cor-Tek

Production year: 2006 (serial: IC060101863)

Could be a good deal, depends on what he's asking and condition.

I gave the $225.00 he wanted, he just left.
I'll take a couple pics in a bit

I'm not confident enough to make the repairs.
My guy is just a few blocks from me, (https://tritoneguitars.com/)
says $150.00 each.
Ouch1 $525.00 total.

He repaired a tattered Martin to a great playing and good looking
guitar for me about 8 years ago.

When I read the title of this thread, I immediately thought the OP was @Eddie doing his Eddie thing...

@Red Beer-d , congrats on the project Strats. I betcha you can do the repairs, we've got threads about that sort of repair here at S-T.

Thanks!
I have a drill press but not the nerves, most I've ever done are neck pockets,
neck heels and string through with ferrules, headstock shaping and
body contours.
Been doing those with saws, files and sandpaper for a few years.
Not quite ready for trusting myself for the repair these need.

Red 2006 Squier pics.
gutted both, the seller said they are stable?
They should have proper repairs done, no way to trust thin CA glue here!
They look great, frets have no wear, I pulled the nut from the red one
and going to make a new one for each in a bit.

Both are nice guitars. You got a deal. I would ditch the roller saddles on the red burst Strat. It makes it look cheap in my opinion. Post pics when you get them repaired and back togethe. 👍🏻👍🏻

The crack on the red burst strat is right where the factory glued the body pieces together. That’s Squier’s fault.

Thank You for the video, I'm going check it out in a minute.

I'm hoping to get more info on the repair, I have ideas but would
want loads of input to cull a good fix.

Worst case, just get Guitar Fetish LIDO or GFX bodies & replace them. That's going to be $ 200+ right there, that assumes the necks are playably good. Just me, these were broken and weren't anything more than $ 25 guitars as risk that they ever play again for body & neck issues. Otherwise they were donor guitars for parts, that is anything hardware, loaded pickguard ? I didn't see enough neck photos to say either is an unplayable neck ? But worn or damaged frets, a bag of frets is $ 20-40 these days ? So that's what a neck refret costs the casual hobbyist for these necks as a DIY project. These look like Affinity gold label necks & bodies.

On a 17 year old guitar ? Fender/Squier has a 2 year warranty on any instrument they sell new & non-transferrable. Epiphone has the lifetime of the original purchaser that may or may not be covered as long as abuse & neglect isn't the case.

Options for sure!
All the original parts are here and all look great.
No hurry, gonna do the DIY fix when comfortable.
Just messing around like I always do.
