I'm familiar with the "Squier Series" guitars made in Mexico, but I saw this today...never seen this one before. Is this a real model or some kind of mash-up headstock decal? Thanks!

I found my answer online (thanks Google) and yes it's legit. This headstock decal was only used in 1993 apparently. Specs I've seen say it has a poplar body, ceramic pickups and trap tuners. It's on sale nearby -- think I'll go after it.

    Yes, I've had both:

    Fender "Squier Series"
    Squier MN

    Both are the same guitars.

Hit us up when you bring it home. :)

He's asking $100. Seems fair...waiting to her back from the seller.

I'd say $100 is fair for sure. I had one of those 95 or 96 Squier series guitars and the neck was super sweet on it.

    Hope you get it!

Looks like I'm gonna miss it. Our schedules didn't match up for today, and another guy is seeing it this evening. Funny thing is, I saw it posted yesterday, but there was no headstock photo. Today...well, this is what happens. Facepalm...

So...I got it. Turns out the other buyer was a no-show. Seems in good shape -- neck and frets and good, some buckle rash on teh back, but otherwise...for $100? I'm happy.

Now to decide what to do with it...Upgrade or use as parts? The neck would serve well on a higher end build, and I can always use a poplar Strat body. Or, I could swap out the trap tuners, electronics, nut and bridge saddles, and resell for what it is -- a pretty cool Squier.

    Decisions, decisions.

I hear you. But, yes, I gotta.

At a minimum, new tuners (I have a spare set of Fenders) and a new nut. Probably pickups, maybe new pots, maybe new saddles.

It's what I do. Keeps me out of mischief. :)
