I recently slapped a new pick guard on, but today I got new Fatpups Blackguard pickups, a new wiring harness, and screw in jackplate. It’s like a new guitar - these pickups are amazing.

A buddy of mine who’s tried every tele pup under the sun turned me on to these. He has a pretty popular YouTube channel and gets pups sent to him to demo. He gets tons of expensive stuff to try, but these are some of his favorites.

For sure. The specs are a little different, but they sound great. However almost anything would have been a huge improvement over the stock pups. I knew they weren’t great, but didn’t truly appreciate how terrible they were until I switched them out.

Which Squier Tele model have you upgraded? How much did all the upgrades cost? Thank you.

    It’s an Indonesian-made Bullet.
    Pickguard - $10
    Jackplate - $5
    Pickups - $100
    Wiring harness - $50
Maybe a tad much for a $200 guitar, but it was a gift, so it didn’t bother me to spend the money to get it to look and sound how I I like.
