Is this squire in any way unusual?

    i have one also, bought from a mate,will check where he got from,i also have photos of Mick Pini,(great blues player holding it) he happened to be visiting me at my shop just after i had bought it off my mate who had just dropped it off,,will post some pics later today

    Haha, bugs me as well but I think its Spell Check that does it, 'Squire' is in the O E D, 'Squier' isnt

    the fingerboard profile seems fairly flat compared to some of the USA strats i seem to remember.
    Anyone else have any insight into how fender choose per style?

    Very early affinity will have similar specs as se. Could be one of them. Before it was affinity on the headstock

    the guitar ive got was bought as a pack by a friends friend,probably Argos about 8 years ago.

    no serial number,is that normal if its SE

    Yes, very normal. Not sure about now, but SE's usually some with the serial number on a sticker, I believe on the back of the neck down near the neck joint (or it could be on the back of the headstock, I don't quite remember). These stickers are easily lost, and it's not uncommon at all to find SE's with no sticker, and as such, no real way to trace its origins.
