Well, she's done. Completo! My DSLR system that is.
Not "new" exactly. Not most of it, anyway. And not the "newest" "best" model, either. But as "new" and 'betterer' as I can ever foresee needing.
In fact what I did was build and expand upon the once "newest" and "best" model, apart from those very serious, pro-grade (i.e., a zillion pictures without ever a failure) models that Nikon and Canon make for those heading to the 106 in the shade desert where a failure would damage a career.
I never in truth frequented deserts. But failures for me even in a quiet, safe, studio would have once been something I couldn't risk.
No longer. Now it is all for my simple joy and satisfaction. And despite such "compromises" I've not had a single camera failure since I bought into this system about a dozen years ago
The big change now is cost. Literally about 1/5th what I paid -- and sometimes even less! -- the dozen or so years ago when I decided on the Canon T2i system.
And to my amazement everything I'd want or foresee needing is still available. Evn the extras like the protective shields made for the LCD screens.
So once I again I say it... If you are thinking you may ever want a DSLR system now's the time. Oh, the bargains available!
I bought via ebay mostly. Ten cents on the dollar in some cases -- even for new stuff. And the sweet extras like classic leather straps -- so expensive these days thru camera shops.

This, btw, is what our "lawn" looks like before its first seasonal mowing.
That'll likely be later today. But the friend that does it for us (There's a lot of "lawn"!) tends to cut around the large swatches of wildflowers - at least until they lose their bloom.
Still, I miss 'em!
This pic was not taken by me, but my my wife, Jan, this morning.
I kind's like it.
