But I walked into a pawn shop today and saw a Squier Tom Delonge signature model for $50 and bought it on the spot. Just gotta do a good cleaning, restring and setup on it. Might do a little paint correction on it as well there’s scuffs everywhere on it but in overall great shape. This is the best deal I have ever found at a pawn shop, these models fetch between $300-500 depending on condition.

I walked in the front door and looked left towards the guitars and amps and the surf green immediately caught my eye. At first I thought it was an affinity strat that someone modified but to my surprise it was a legit Tom strat.

Great score!! Kind of bad when you think of it though, not for you, but for whatever poor soul pawned or sold it....if they let it go for $50 they probably paid less than $20 for it.....

Curious, it looks like it says Affinity on the end of the headstock - is it full thickness? Sweet deal for sure!

Enlarge the pic a bit, you'll clearly see standard series on the headstock.

I’m going to keep it for a while, been doing some research on the squier model and it turns out that just like it’s Fender counterpart this has an alder body as well.

Took her apart and cleaned it, restrung and set it up. I think a new nut is in its future, the tuners feel great so those are staying for a while. The frets are great with no wear or feet sprout. It kinda looks like someone took sandpaper or a file to the pole pieces they shouldn’t be like that under normal use. Might switch the pickguard for the mother of pearl one like the fender model. Gonna finish tinkering with it tomorrow after work.
