Look how easy it is..Sarah makes it look that way..
I thin I've seen SRV or someone else do it mid-song, but on a pedal steel while singing? She's Wonder Woman!
I saw Townsend have a
hissy-fit, screaming at a
roadie to get him another
axe & to change the string.
Me.? Change a string.?
Pick up another axe just
off stage.? Me.? Sorry, I
couldn't reach past my
windmill or my ego..!!
Why can't her tech just bring out a different pedal steel?
That's part of the act..And likely the only guitar she brought to the show..Steel players live in a different world then most people..
This is the video that came to mind for me too. Like a motherfriggin' boss!
Pretty nuts, I hate changing the unwrapped strings! When it’s happened to me I just live with one less string until the song ends, then change it before the next tune (or swap guitars). Luckily she wasn’t playing in a trio, there’d be a whole lot of empty soundscape while changing that string.
Pretty amazing stuff, i couldnt get the packet opened within that time frame never mind changing a string too..
Yeah, I quoted your post. I was saying the video that you posted was what came to mind when the OP mentioned a string change.
I missed that it was a quote, @mitch_cumsteen . “Duh” on my part. Sorry.
I saw jr Brown break a string playing once, his bass player changed it mid song. Jr. never stopped playing.
