Somewhere there is a guitar / music teacher with the information you need to make this happen - I'm sure there is someone in the Big D that would be delighted for such a nice gift ! Do you have a relationship with a brick and mortar that has a instructor onsite ? @Treynor many people like you make this Forum a special place !

God Bless You ! Sir !

    Ken,

I have inquired about this before and continue to. If I can find someone locally I'll post the narrative here. Thanks!

    @Treynor

    Tossin' out,
    some thawts here:

    Idk what grade(s)
    Eddie teaches, but he's
    dedicated enough to
    know a kid who'd be
    deserving enough &
    who'd appreciate this.

    Or, have nominees
    PM'd to you, RL...
After a wk, or a set
    time limit, select a
    top 10...(?) list &
    present those to the
    Forum, for a vote?

    The final presentation
    should be a surprise,
    but, w/o tipping their
    hand, the selected
    nominator, could
    ensure the winner
    will be available to
    receive the pkg.

    Just brainstorming,
    whatever u think...
    it's your puppy.
    Tell us how we can
    help you..!!

Some great ideas you are coming up with!

@Eddie - per the suggestion, do you any kids from your school in mind?

For nominees, I suggest all narratives should be posted directly in this thread for us all to see.

That would be awesome, but the reality is that kids don't play guitar anymore. Very sad.

I've continually tried to encourage my students to play. But it's a different world from the one I grew up in.

A great addition to Treynor’s generosity would be for an ST member to give lessons to the needy child who receives the rig.

    open forum..!!

    Now, C'mon Ppl.

    ANY member: Submit
    a child's name & short
    explanation, as to why
    & how they'd benefit
    from this generous gift
    including: guitar, amp,

    complete starter set for
    an aspiring musician,

Knowing that somewhere there is a child who could really benefit from this gift, it’s a genuine shame, and a little frustrating, that we’re all nearly at a loss for how to find and connect with them.

Heck, if it were easier to find the kids, and verify that I wasn’t just getting scammed, I’d consider getting in on this type of thing on a regular basis, like twice a year. It seems the easy part is finding donors.

If there's a children's hospital in your city I guarantee they need toys, puzzles, books, and musical instruments. Some kids are in the hospital for a very long time and need distractions.

As I understand it the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee is nationally recognized as one of the best, and people come from all over the world to get their children treated there. I think a child can’t even be admitted if they’re over 18.

I’m willing to commit to making a cash contribution twice a year as well, to keep something like this going. But we need to see if it flies the first time.

I donated 3 amps and 3 guitars to Riley Children's Hospital in Indy a few years back and they were happy to have them.
