Okay, I'll play.

Two workhorses;-

2007 Baja. Added Seymour Duncan Hot Tele pickups. Stripped finish and wearing and ageing well. This guitar comes to and is played at every gig, has been dropped, had beer spilt on it and has never let me down.

Ably backed up by this 2004 MIM Standard, modded with black guard, SD Hot Tele pickups, vintage tuner and vintage style bridge. Suffers and is relied on like the Baja, love the midnight wine colour. Had a tough life before me and it continues

I have a partscaster made from an MIM Std neck, a Squier Classic Vibe Custom body, Lawrence Keystone pickups and also vintage style tuners

Squier Standard Telecaster in Antique Burst. Added Bare Knuckle Boot Camp pickups and a four way switch

Recently acquired Squier Affinity, bought in poor condition in a local charity shop, only lightly modded, bone nut, 4 way switch, cream guard and a good set up.

Your "poor" condition is better than any of my "mint" condition guitars.

Heres my lump of Swamp Ash
Harley Benton TE-52 its real heavy 9 pounds

I used to love Les Paul's now I cant stand them
I used to dislike Telecasters....Now I absolutely love them.
I like the sound, but the ease of modding
Bolt on necks rule IMO
I really like the distorted tone one minute
But a nice chime the other
TELE is great for that. View attachment 257478

Lovin' the round overs for sure, gonna buzz the edges of my

1965, 68, 78, and early ‘90s USA teles

Blonde 1990 Squier MIJ tele

Fernandes 1990s butterscotch tele

When I was growing up as a rock guitarist my town only had a few country players using them and they were preferably Pre CBS and butterscotch. I was that lone tele guy and the fellow rockers were all strat, LP, SG, or Ibanez copies and later Ibanez and Jackson/Charvel shredders.

The tele “country guys” were the real guys and if anything after Cash, Denver, or Nelson it was anything goes for country, including Floyd Rose and anymore country was Taylor Swift, Brooks, Alabama, or similar which while not at all bad wasn’t the country music I knew based on Nashville or Bakersfield. They were all closer to pop rock and for a few years I played country and folk rock and pretty much recycled Led Zep riffs as a lead guitarist in new country. No issues, lol.

Older grumpy country old school guys thought there was no difference between Metallica and new country. Musically they were more right than wrong.

In recent years I read Gram Parsons was most responsible for the tectonic change after Cash and I fell in love with the latter Byrds. Gram is the dude!

Most recent one in the 1990s.

And while not versed in new country of the last few decades, Taylor Swift is amazing nonetheless whatever the music historian’s’ description of her.

These days I am a strat guy who might pick up another type of guitar as a backup but live pretty much in the strat universe. The tele I like most is the Nashville Deluxe tele, so yeah basically nit much different than a nice hard tailed strat functionally, lol.

I'm down to 4 but it's a comfortable number and suits me fine.
Three Squier and one Fender. There's some gorgeous Telecasters in this thread.

Not doing teles since the 1990s, unfortunately, but that black Squier Nashville 3 pup 5x position monster is righteous.

How did you mod that?

I want to do a Mason 4 way or regular 5 way with:

1) three pickups with in a setup of bridge, bridge and middle in series, middle, and neck,

OR

2) wired like a 5 way strat.

Ya, not see very often for sale. Only made in Black or Olympic white. Reverse control panel, stack humbuckers, maple fretboard only. I don't get it out for a run too often.
I gave it away to a friend on my last move.... it was that or my Epiphone Japan SG70 (that I bought new in 1999) and the SG won. Too bad, that Tele was the guitar I player more often - but my SG was (and still is) closer to my heart.
